I know that was just a joke, but I would have to disagree, Comrie does play a chippy game for someone of his stature. He was in two fights last year, and three the year before. He has hands, and for 2 -2.5 I would be completely open to signing him for a 1 year contract. I'd rather have Regin play on the second line with Kovalev, but i'm not sure how realistic that is.

I don't know why people are so sour on Comrie. If we can snag him for $2 or under, I'm right down. He plays a grittier game than people what to give him credit for. He's capable of 20-25 goals. $2 million is a bargain for what he potentially brings. Successful teams always seems to get value out of certain contracts and this guy potentially is worth way more than $2 million per. Last season he was on the Island, and was coming off major off season surgery, so I'll give him a mulligan. In his first stint here, he did everything that was asked of him and more. He played wing and centre with whomeever he was asked to play with and filled in on the top line for a spell and fit in. I'm going to be annoyed if Murray lets him walk this time over a few hundred K.

if he fit into the structure, I am sure he would get some consideration, but with as many forwards as we have already and the cap issues, plus we possibly have a Comrie in the making (Shannon) will probably be the deciding issues that keeps Comrie away from a contract with the Sens.

I heard he wanted to remain a Senator. But have not heard anything else regarding whether or not Murray is interested or what is going on with his contract. Is he waiting on a Heatley decision?

Lots of people are waiting on a Heatley decision. Including the Oilers, Wild, Sharks, Jackets and a couple of other "VERY SERIOUS" teams I'm told...

What do you mean? Teams that have put in offers? Why would anybody but Ottawa, Edmonton and (maybe) San Jose be waiting for Heatley at this point?
