we have guys in bingo (bass and Smith) who can step up and fight if need be and i am sure they can add more points all for a little less money right now

HE should have taken teh money and ran, but I'm a little relieved.SpezDispenser wrote:Nice offer we made. He can do better than that? Fine, good luck! I won't say I won't miss you, you were a great character, but that's too much.
Me too! I'm heading down Friday morning to watch the 3 on 3 games. Apparently Weirococh and Petterson are the creme of the crop. Petersson has the potential to be something real special, a late bloomer of sorts, could easily pass Zubov as teh top forward prospect.SpezDispenser wrote:jamvan wrote:I agree! Yep, pretty relieved we didn't sink 2 million into Chris Neil. Again, I agree with you, I like him, but that's too much. We have a lot of pluggers and little skill right now.
I wanna buy some skill.
HowieMorenz wrote:hmm, 1.7 ... sounds fair to me ... i think he could get a 3 year 2 million though, he's the top of that category, and 2 mil is top dollar right now for that category /.....

Under Alfie's influence, I don't see that as a problem. Alfie will be an even bigger assest to these guys than we think. Think about it, the same was said about Zetterberg and now he's one of the best two way forwards in the game.SpezDispenser wrote:I heard that about Petersson as well. Big potential here - has to commit to 2-way play, but a sniper the like of Havlat apparently.
wprager wrote:He's not a heavyweight, if that's what you're talking about. Carcillo also got 3 goals, but he's making under $900K and I'm pretty sure his point total will go up playing in Philly over Phoenix.
I'm just saying if we want a goon, then there are some available, but as you stated we don't need someone that does Neils job. we have stuff better in the wings.SpezDispenser wrote:jamvan wrote:I think we can get Andrew Peters for less who is a better player than Neil.
Pass. Let's let Cody Bass and maybe Zach Smith have some fun. And Winchester, and Ruutu.
He's an RFA, expect for him to make more.SpezDispenser wrote:wprager wrote:He's not a heavyweight, if that's what you're talking about. Carcillo also got 3 goals, but he's making under $900K and I'm pretty sure his point total will go up playing in Philly over Phoenix.
He's making under 900K!!!? Must be his entry level, he'll be paid, won't he?

Bass will undoubtedly out point Neil and is a lot faster and like you saiod; a penalty killer in disguise. You can really see this team starting to take shape, especially when the Heatley saga is over.Bass Destruction wrote:Bass will probably get similar points to Neil, but will be a lot more defensively responsible. Bass doesn't really take bad penalties. He shows leadership, does what needs to be done, and will fight when he sees it necessary. Remember, this guy who's 6'1, 211 fought 6'7, 240 lbs of Boris Valabik, and fared pretty well. I'd love a line of him, Winchester and Ruutu as our fourth next year. Hopefully he gets time on the PK too.
