Can't imagine. Might make for a useful bluff... but I can't see Heatley agreeing to that.

I'd be disappointed if he did, but I'd be angry if Murray dealt him for scraps. Real angry.
Better to stay the course. If people expect to acquire Dany Heatley and pay him 4 million in salary AND give up nothing they can just Diddle off. Simple as that.
I am just wondering where all these good deals from the media went, maybe they were all just creations of the media, oh so frustrating, we went from being potentially set for years to come to being stuck with a sulky cry baby.
He'll realize nobody wants him and he better pull up his socks and play his best hockey for the Ottawa Senators if he really wants to move.
Better to be "stuck" with Heatley than get nickel-and-dimed by other teams.
SensFan71 wrote:then we shall move him trade deadline day for a better return that Hossa garnered from Pittsburgh 2 years ago.

Sens May Just Keep Heatley

from Kevin Allen’s Twitter this morning,
Heard this morning that unless offers significanly improve the Senators may keep Dany Heatley. His $7.5 million cap too much for most teams.
SeawaySensFan wrote: Then "most teams" should put down the crack pipe and pick up the calculator.
Heatley is currently seventh in cap hit in the NHL he will likely sink like a stone in that ranking by the time successive UFA contracts are handed out until his contract expires in 13/14.
Here's a sample of committed salaries in millions from now until 13/14.
35 - Heatley
50 - Lecavalier
39 - Eric Staal
33.5 - Scott Gomez
35.7 - Soupy
33.5 - Datsuyk
32 - Briere
30 - Horcoff
For the most part, the salary cap variance is negligeable (a million give or take) and many of these contracts go beyond 13/14.

Yeah, well the Ottawa Dung reports that there is "Not one Heatley offer yet"

Or I demonstrated that Heatley's talent to cap/salary ratio is good value. Whichever you choose.

Well, it's not my choice...
You or I, as fans, can make arguments for or against the value of a player's contract...but it is only the opinons of the GMs Bryan Murray is dealing with, that matter in this particular case.
