Well, if there's a rumour about it, it most likely won't happen. Nothing AA has done has been rumoured or leaked before it happened. He keeps it pretty tight.

I'm fine with that. Haven't followed baseball since then. Blame Donald Fehr for what happened to the Expos. Hate to say it (because you should know by now I'm not a fan of Bettman -- whom I usually call Buttman) but if Bettman was the commissioner instead of Selig, maybe I'm still an MLB fan.

The Jays have apparently acquired Cy Young winner Dickey for D'Aranuad (easily our best prospect). Negotiations on an extension before the deal is completed.

If true, I don't like losing Travis DA, but I the rotation Toronto has is second to none now IMO.

D'Arnaud was probably the cost of Dickey's $5 million salary for next season. I heard somewhere that he isn't asking for absurd money to re-up. Around $12-13 million a piece for two years. Losing D'Arnaud sucks, but the playoff revenue and the interest in the team generated by that would be huge. This team needs something for fans to get excited about again.

Word is Dickey wants a 2-year $25M extension. They have 72 hours to finalize the extension to make the deal work. If not, deal is undone.

If that $$ is true, it's a done deal.

There's way more to this deal apparently. There's another big time prospect going to the Mets, Noah Syndergaard. Also going is John Buck - which is a $$ dump. Toronto is getting Josh Thole are well, a serviceable, 26 year old catcher who has a career batting average of .260.

There's also rumours of a prospect coming Toronto's way.

Yeah, here are the others rumoured:

Catcher Josh Thole and a prospect heading to Toronto for catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud, pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, recently acquired catcher John Buck and another prospect.
