Looks like John Gibbons will be named the Jays manager....

http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=409899

Gibby's back... time for some Gibby Ball.

And I'd also like to add: why they hell? Did everyone else say no? Very odd move.

As the article says probably a repeat of 2006, they'll do better but still miss the playoffs.

Wow....what? I seriously doubt that.

My money is on them making the playoffs. The risky bet would be if they win the AL East or not.

I won a case of beer off a buddy for last season, missing the playoffs. Maybe I'll suggest a bet to see if they win the AL East... heh heh.

Them making the playoffs will also depend on how well the Yankees, BoSox, Orioles, etc do....the Jays play these teams a ton, and if they are rolling, that'll make things really hard.

Will be interesting to see how active those teams are in the off-season. BoSox need to re-charge too, but so far they've been idle. Can the Orioles repeat last season's heroics? Will the injury bug strike the Jays again? Stay tuned...

I can't remember being this excited about an upcoming Jays season since the glory days. Hopefully the fans respond to this commitment by the ownership group.

Greinke would be nice... Garza and Dickey are also avail...

Greinke is asking for 6-year/$150M. Wow.

He's got a career 3.77 ERA and a 1.247 WHIP.

Anibal Sanchez and Edwin Jackson have been mentioned as possible Jays acquisitions too.

Greinke wants A-Rod money? Get bent.

Dickey is too old and too much of a risk. He has 61 career wins, and 20 of them came last year. You know he's going to command as much as he can while he still can.

I don't know who I'd want.

Sounds like Jays are in the mix with Dickey...

http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2012/12/03/duquette-dickey-ing-us-around/

Arencibia and Gose mentioned as pieces of a possible trade...

Oh Diddle that. Gose can't go for an old guy who had one amazing year. Even JPA is a huge risk when it comes to a knuckleballer.

Well, if there's a rumour about it, it most likely won't happen. Nothing AA has done has been rumoured or leaked before it happened. He keeps it pretty tight.

Yeah, exactly. We don't need another ace anyway - it would be nice, but it's overkill. We need a nice, solid number 3 guy who can move up if need be, or move down to the 5th role if need be. Also sends Happ to long relief until there are injuries.
