There was no way around it.  I'd rather they play a silly double-header than tack an extra game on the end of the schedule and potentially mess with the pitching rotation going into game 1 of the first playoff series.

They are playing the Orioles today.  Right now, in fact.  They should have made the double-header today (if they won game one yesterday).

The reason they are playing the game right now instead of later today is because there is terrible weather heading Baltimore's way. You guys think the schedulers/powers that be didn't consider these types of possibilities? The important thing was to make up the game as soon as possible...not cater to post-game celebrations.

Donaldson couldn't have done more to keep the Jays in the mix before they acquired Tulo, Price, Revere etc. He's the clear MVP in my eyes. Not even close.

He already had Bautista, Edwin, etc. Trout had nobody expect Pujols who is batting 250.

BTW, did anyone realize that Doughty had more first place votes for the Norris than Karlsson?

Awards voting is pretty silly at the best of times.  The Professional Hockey Writers Association votes on the Norris trophy.  The notable members of this association can be found here:

Then there's a bunch of Toronto-based reporters...geniuses like Steve Simmons and (shudder) Damien Cox.  There's very few names I recognize on the list who I would count on to cast a reasonable ballot (Bobby Mac, Elliotte Friedman).  

Anyway, I don't place any stock in these awards and neither should anyone with half a brain.  Unless our guys win (i.e. Karlsson), and then it means EVERYTHING!

At the end of the day, I don't really care if Donaldson wins the MVP or Price wins the Cy Young, or Antholpolis wins Executive of the Year, but from a fan's POV, I don't see how Trout could be voted for over JD.

It's a personal award and we're going for something bigger obviously.

Tulo with a couple hits in his return to the lineup. I think he's getting today off and then will play in the last game of the season. The Jays are tied with the Royals for first overall, but I think they're taking the approach of resting guys versus chasing 1st overall.

Playoffs start Thursday.

The royals have to pass us, they can't tie. We have the tiebreaker

They're my team as much as the Senators are though. I don't know what to say. If Ottawa had an MLB team, that would be different I guess.
