And at the home opener, they'll have a steamroller crushing a pile of BlackBerrys in the parking lot.

Another wannabe making a leveraged pitch to buy Yotes?

It appears there may be another Canadian businessman interested in purchasing the Phoenix Coyotes.
A report on the Globe and Mail's website suggests that Montreal businessman Steve Stotland is leading a group of investors looking to buy the NHL franchise and have it remain in Glendale, Ariz.
According to the report, Stotland was also involved with a group that attempted to purchase the Montreal Canadiens in 2000 and earlier this year.

How dare you impinge the reputation of fine Canadians like Mr. Stotland.

All I said is that he doesn't have deep enough pockets to be taken seriously.

And now questioning the depth of his 'pockets', eh? Next you'll be talking about his balls.

Only if you make an unsubstantiated claim about his groin. Besides, the need for multiple investors is always a good indicator of lack of funding for these ventures.

No. Just an opinion formulated from reading a couple of articles. Harmless stuff.

Right. In the lower-body area. Which covers a lot of limbs, joints, bones and organs. You really can't narrow it down to just one.

So when you talk about protecting the 'investment', are you talking about 'cup aspirations'?

It's not much of an investment if the cup is the size of a thimble.

With a remark like that, can one assume you've seen Mr. Stotland's package?

No but I know how mediocre an "investment" the Coyotes would be. If they remain in the desert. Which is what eeeeeeverybody wants. What's Next for the Coyotes? - Page 3 754246

Maybe you can talk Stotland into moving them to Morrisburg.
What's Next for the Coyotes? - Page 3 Icon_wink

If you promise to stop making jokes about the size of his package and how he uses it.

Mr. Stotland has enough on his plate trying to get this house of cards in order.

SSF> I like your use of food and gaming metaphors.

But to be fair, you really aren't giving Stotland the benefit of the doubt. I mean, all these innovations he's proposing...bingo on game nights...stripper poles in the corporate suites...these are the things that stimulate a fanbase.

He's even borrowed some marketing ideas from the Sens...like the Four Pack: four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks for 99 bucks.

And he's hired one of the hockey's world's great salesmen...a true fan, committed to supporting unserved markets...to rev up the crowds.

You might recognize him.
