And Goldwater wades into the latest mess...

http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/goldwater-institute-to-seek-restraining-order-to-halt-glendale-vote-on-coyotes-157984355.html

Also of note, the Jamison group apparently has not been able to raise enough cash to buy the 'Yotes.

Donkey Rodeo!!!!

I wonder if Winnipeg will be pissed that they wound up with the Thrashers instead of the Coyotes. Meh...guess they are just happy to have a team.

I'm so sick of the Coyotes BS.

So far there was only one guy who was willing to put up his own dough for the team. The rest have been attempts at schemes where a prospective owner would end up being paid, somehow, to take the team.

Ballsilly? Probably a good thing he didn't get them...they'd be up for sale again. Bettman predicted the collapse of RIM...the man is a genius.

HA! Cuban would look at the situation and say:

"Are you Cussing kidding me?"

They'd be a quicker sell in which ever town he would have moved them to. Bettman sure is a genius except he can't figure out how to have Glendale taxpayers pay an "owner" to take the Coyotes.

The City is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They're on the hook for Jobing.com arena and without a tenant like the Coyotes there is no way they could ever pay it off.

But no one will buy them without a crooked deal because they lose tens of millions per year.

Glendale should focus on buying PowerBall lottery tickets to solve their problems.

Or better yet, selling lottery tickets. That's where the REAL money is.

Turn jobing.com arena in to a casino.

I actually suggested that they turn it into a multi-screen cinema a while back... Anyway, I don't believe for a second that Glendale doesn't have any other option but to pay for somebody else's team just to have a tenant.

Goldwater bid to stop the vote was denied! But, judge did say the council was in violation. What an odd thing.

Yes.

Via John Shannon: "So Glendale Council Approves The Arena deal with Greg Jamison as Manager. Vote was 4-2. Inching closer to Coyotes staying in Glendale."

http://ktar.com/22/1552014/Goldwater-Institute-Glendale-missing-significant-portions-of-Coyotes-deal

"The judge said, 'I don't have the legal authority to block them from voting today, but I agree with you, Goldwater Institute, that they are violating open meetings law,'" said Rhoades. "'They are violating public records law and they are in violation of court orders to provide documents to the public and if you come back to me, after they've passed this deal, I will strike it down.'"
