It's currently 2-0 for Canada, about 8 mins left in the 2nd.

Canada just surviived a lengthy 5-3 but Belarus unable to cash in.

Belarus also had a goal dissallowed, which in my view was the WRONG call.
Roloson left the crease to play the puck, and with his back turned, tried to spin and return to the crease, but bumped into the right goalpost and thus knocked the net off it's moorings; now, while this collision is occuring, Belarus slaps a shot into the twine.

Apparently, IIHF rules dictate that if the net is off it's moorings PERIOD, NO GOAL. Anyway, the highlights will be up on TSN upon completion of the game...you guys can all be judge. I think it was a bogus call and the goal should stand.

Anyway, I have the game up on my boss' flat screen so I'll keep the updates coming.

*Update* Not much to throw in here, other than to mention that I would really like to have Hamhuis in a Sens uni... What a booming shot he has...

*Update* Melshko called for the Slew-foot, Canada back on the PP...

Under 2 mins in the 2nd

Yeah, that disallowed goal was a bad call. Rollie bumped the net off and it should have counted. Mind you, he didn't do it intentionally, but it was done by him. Tough break for Grabs. I'm not sure on the exact rules for IIHF on that one... would be interesting to know if it's simply a black and white rule that if the net is dislodged un-intentionally, the goal does not count, no matter who knocks it off.

Does sound like kind of a cheesy rule, which really must dishearten the Belarussians, they could have been right back into the game with that goal.

Well, according to Randorf and the other fella calling the game for TSN (I apologize but I didn't catch his name) they were consulting the rules and apparently it states rather black & white that if the net if off the moorings, intentional or not, NO goal is allowed.

On that, I agree with the two commentators that the rule should either be changed or modified to allow for greyer/discretion calls.

Who scored the 2 goals?

Both were scored by Stamkos. One 5-on-5 and the other on the PP.

Should have given Roloson a delay of game penalty then if that's the case.

That would be one appropriate call IMHO PKC.

I just feel bad for Belarus. And the Commentators were right: if it had been Canada, people would be screaming, and it happened to Belarus and I'm actually upset at such a strange call; although these refs aren't the most observant. they missed a blatant Too many men on Belarus and another slew foot so far...

my prediction, Canada kills off the penalty, send Fisher off on a breakaway and he scores a beauty goal. (if he does, where was that in the regular season?)
