later in the year. It seemed to be impossible to play professional ice
hockey any longer but Müller recovered and had his comeback on February
3, 2007 at the DEL All-Star Game 2007. He was reappointed in the national team at the Skoda Cup in Switzerland.
In August 2008, while playing for the Kölner Haie,
the tumor continued to grow, requiring another operation. After that he
absolved his physician, Wolfgang Wick, from patient/physician
confidentiality. Wick told the media that Müller was terminally ill and
already exceeded anticipated average life, as only 3% of the people
having the same cancer live over five years.
On December 18, 2008, his doctor decided Müller was no longer cleared to play, as his condition grew worse.

Robert Muller is Germany’s premiere ice hockey goal tender in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Muller was recently diagnosed with
an incurable, malignant type of brain cancer. Despite his dangerous
condition, he continues to play his favorite sport. It is to note that
Muller had an operation in 2006 which removed some parts of the tumor
and went on to play in the arena while he was undergoing chemotherapy
sessions. In an amazing feat, he played well in Germany’s behalf at the
championship event in Canada. The tumor began to grow again last summer
and he recently went on his second operation. He continues to play up
to this day and is continuing to inspire people.

This is a guy i think we can all look up to.

I recently stumbled up this article, and it left me speechless. In a world of multi-million dollar contracts, its nice to see that somewhere in the world, some still play for the love of the sport.

I couldn't find any recent information on him... anyone know anything?

Holy cow. That is absolutely and positively the most amazing story. I feel very, very badly for him, but I love that he's doing what he loves to do - not for the cheque, but for the passion of the game.

Good luck Robert! We can only hope for the best.
