Ive wathced may be 10 games this year, I can tell you that game was an exception. They probably downgraded to the level of the opponent Suspect

Reading the comments in here has been extremely disheartening (I didn't get the chance to watch the game because I was working).

Was the team really just that flat-out awful?

What is up with these guys? Is Heatley sending a message by mailing it in every night? Who or what is the problem? If it's a someone (or, possibly, several someones) then get rid of them.

But I just don't understand this team. It doesn't make sense. Don't tell me we don't have puck-moving defensemen, yada yada yada...when you're a Dany Heatley or a Jason Spezza, you adjust. Diddle it. You start getting creative and doing different things.

I'm sincerely perplexed by this team's effort and motivation.

If Bryan Murray wants to ged rid of them, he's probably waiting for the trade deadline.

It was awful. There are guys that care out there, but not the ones that should.

Spezza is on pace for 67 points this year, 67! 7 million dollars a year gets you 67 points and a defensive liability. He might have signed under market value at the time, but he isnt worth 1/2 that. Get rid of him while we can, WHILE WE CAN!

Watching a team you love with players you hate might be the worst feeling on earth when it comes to sports.

I just wrote an absolutly nasty, but polite, e-mail to my season ticket account manager. Simply put, I wont support the crap on the ice right now, not a penny. Until I see commitment from ownership to make the team better and rebuild, I wont be coming back. I will 1005 support a rebuild with my money.

Hope more than 1 person is sending that e-mail back to the Sens.

I fell asleep during the second. Unlike Heatley, I was at least awake for the 1st and 3rd.

Problem is, the fans and management fell in love with Heatley and Spezza after career years. They got big contracts and have come back to Earth a bit.

I think the embarassment of this season may be what Spezza and Heatley need to raise their games every night. I hope they both get snubbed by Team Canada during the Worlds in April. Maybe that message will get through.

And fire Hartsburg already. This clown addresses inconsistency by not allowing anyone to have consistent linemates. Idiot.

I swear to you Greg Carvel is listening to an IPod.

Heatley will prob be there, as for Spezza being there, who knows, all the best Canadian players will be in the playoffs so... If either one gets snubbed at the worlds, thats speaks volumns.

The only thing I would change from that is the commitment form ownership... Melnyk has proven he wants to win and he'll spend the money needed to win... It's more the commitment from management.

Here is a truly scary postgame quote, from Allen Panzeri's Canwest News Service wire story tonight:

Columbus defenceman Jan Hejda, who was on the ice often against Ottawa's big line of Heatley, Jason Spezza, and Daniel Alfredsson, said what many Ottawa fans are probably thinking this morning.
"They didn't play like we saw on TV (against St. Louis)," he said. "Especially Spezza. He dumped the puck in three or four times. It seemed like they didn't want to play.
"Maybe for those guys the season's done."
