Why would we have thought that in the first place? This team has been awful for 80+ games now.

We're not going to finish very high this season. But with that comes certain benefits.

Ive never really tought this team could. There is too many holes and id rather get a good solid pick this year and re-up for next year. There is what like a 1.6% percent i saw on sportsnet if you do the math that the sens will make it. It's not looking good!

Nope, but the long-term benefit of a high pick is potentially very high.

Also, it gives us more of a chance to give our young kids valuable playing time. I read somewhere that Regin was 7 for 7 in the face-off dot.

Back to boring game, tanking mode, and prospects news tracking.

Haha, yeah, it's too bad there isn't a WJHC every month.

How about a little Karlsson bullet to calm the nerves

More importantly, Regin looked like he wanted to compete.

Elliott got hung out to dry IMHO. A few fans on the post game call in shows critiqued one or two of the goals he allowed, but the team was horrendous defensively.

Heatley's comments about how 'everyone loves Els' ring so hollow now...

BTW I also watched the Jackets beat the Wings tonight. Rick Nash is everything a captain should be.

Also caught parts of the Lightning's win over the Habs...Rick Tocchet's dose of nasty is starting to do them some good.

The Senators need a big dose of nasty, do they not?

Wow. That looked like a pretty crap effort last night. Like they didn't care at all. What the hell is going on with these guys?

A 4 min PP with no shots... that pretty much sums it up.

That sounds about right. I was at the game and in the third they put up his face-off stats and he was 6 wins 0 losses at the time.

Two words:

Lidstrom
Datsyuk

Edit: I suppose I should explain myself. The Jackets would likely not have won that game had the above two players played last night.

A guy who attended last nights game called the effort "reprehensible". Good word.

I was at the game also and it looked like they just gave up after the 2nd goal by NJ.

Do you realize what a pain in the arse it is to go out to the SBP to see a game for Sensgirl and I? I normally wouldn't complain, but we're in South Ottawa, it takes us a solid hour and 45 minutes from the house to the seat, maybe even 2 hours. It's cold, we've both worked all day, we just want to see a Diddle little bit of effort put out there.

That kind of Dung last night is the reason why season tickets for next year will drop like a rock. Who the Diddle wants to see those idiots play? They don't care, why should we anymore.

I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed that Hartsburg scratched Jason Smith for Brendan Bell, that our blueline sucks, that Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson flat out DO NOT CARE anymore. That Picard is regressing, that Smith was in the press-box, that Fisher sucks, that Kelly is a waste of a roster spot, that Phillips has regressed to a 6th D-man.

God damn it! Talk about being pissed. I was numb last night - I'm Diddle pissed this morning.

I'm at least equally pissed and I watched the game in the comfort of my Seaway home. Go figure.
