Do you realize what a pain in the arse it is to go out to the SBP to see a game for Sensgirl and I? I normally wouldn't complain, but we're in South Ottawa, it takes us a solid hour and 45 minutes from the house to the seat, maybe even 2 hours. It's cold, we've both worked all day, we just want to see a Diddle little bit of effort put out there.

That kind of Dung last night is the reason why season tickets for next year will drop like a rock. Who the Diddle wants to see those idiots play? They don't care, why should we anymore.

I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed that Hartsburg scratched Jason Smith for Brendan Bell, that our blueline sucks, that Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson flat out DO NOT CARE anymore. That Picard is regressing, that Smith was in the press-box, that Fisher sucks, that Kelly is a waste of a roster spot, that Phillips has regressed to a 6th D-man.

God damn it! Talk about being pissed. I was numb last night - I'm Diddle pissed this morning.

I'm at least equally pissed and I watched the game in the comfort of my Seaway home. Go figure.

We all deserve to be pissed off this morning.

You are bang on! The effort put forth last night was inexcusable.

I was offered tickets to last nights game, I declined and took the tickets for the game against the Kings.

The Kings should be a nice game. Even if the Sens stink up the joint seeing future superstars like Brown, Kopitar, and Doughty etc are worth it.

Very shrewd move. Devils games are always painful, whether we win or lose.

You can't lose with LA, we may win and if not you get to see some of their exciting young players during a rare visit to the Nation's Capital.

I was supposed to go but my wife took ill. I will tell you, after the second period I was wishing I was the one wretching rather than the one forced to sit though that crap. Where is the ipecac?

Also, Kings games are usually spirited affairs. I don't know why but they seem to hate each other.

Of course if they put the effort out they did vs. NJ then I'll be tempted to throw something on the ice.

The army guy who came home from war without his legs and one arm. I have to confess we were still in like at Timmies.

I was there and despite sitting with my 4 month old I still got up and figured out a way to clap without dropping her :D

Also, it gives us more of a chance to give our young kids valuable playing time. I read somewhere that Regin was 7 for 7 in the face-off dot.

More importantly, Regin looked like he wanted to compete.

Elliott got hung out to dry IMHO. A few fans on the post game call in shows critiqued one or two of the goals he allowed, but the team was horrendous defensively.

Heatley's comments about how 'everyone loves Els' ring so hollow now...
After sitting for much of the period (GOOD JOB on the accountability, Hartsburg Suspect ) Regin lost his last faceoff to finish 6-for-7 on the night. His last shift was what seemed like a really rough experience for him, but he stayed out there for a while and actually helped generate a chance.

I have to say, though: Elliott was NOT good last night. Not at all. Talk all you want about defensive coverage, but his play was the worst we've seen from him in Ottawa. He has a LOT of work to do before he is ready to be a starter in this league.
I'm cool with him staying in Ottawa for the rest of the season, but I'm not expecting much from him this season - I just want him to learn.

No, Elliott was not particularly good. However, the Senators, as they do game after game, gave up too many scoring chances. They failed to control the play, and the Devils had this one well in hand after midway in the second period.

Few goaltenders can win when their team plays so obviously badly as the Senators did last night.

Elliott seems like a good kid and tough enough to shake this one off. But as you say, expect no miracles.

on the radio today (Variety 104) I heard an add for Sens tickets against the Kings, like $19 a ticket. Tell me the franchise is not desperate. In my 6 years of living here I've never heard a more desperate sales pitch for ticket sales.

the whole team stank, Elliot included. Just like i said earlier, a big multi day break undoes all the progress made.

Earth to Team: you are being booed in your own building. Smarten the Frank Up!

I think its safe to say that he needs to be better and the team needs to be MUCH better.

I read a crazy stat earlier - I think it was in the citizen: Jersey is something like 27-0-1 when leading after 2 periods and the Sens are 1-18-1 when trailing after 2. We could have all just shut off our TVs or walked out of the building during the second intermission.
