Not sure if there is. Didn't they do that with Andrewchuk? Waived him but told him he didn't have to report to the AHL?

The Ottawa Senators today recalled centre Peter Regin from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Not sure who's scratched though.
