So, does this mean that everyone's bonuses no long count in full to the cap and the teams get some more room?

What? Explain.

They voted to not re-open, which means it's status quo. So whatever applied before today still applies.

I was under the impression that since this could be the last year of the current CBA if the re-opened it, all bonuses were counted in from the start. Since they are not re-opening it, this is not the last year of the CBA as it is now 2011.

Yes, this means that for this season, bonuses will no longer count if the team wishes to defer them to the following season.

I think if thats the case and you can survive on your current cap structure then you bite the bullet to get it over with.

But for next year, the deferral merry-go-round can start over again (until 2011-2012, when those chickens again come home to roost)
