Yeah, just saw Friedman's tweet.  What are they thinking about!  Unless they are talking to him about which players on the Sens are worth taking in a trade.

Also, apparently Chiarelli fired the heads of amateur and pro scouting over the weekend.  I guess throwing a dart would be as good as their recent draft/trades have been so why not.

God damnit. I hate it when they do something that might help them. This is clearly going against the oilers way.

No one believes for one second, including the Blackhawks, that they'll get that for Sharp.  One of those things mentioned is a fair return, and that's what they'll get.  Maybe a late first and a mid-range prospect or current roster player.

I was talking to someone once about the way the feds hire people. Apparently, they put out a list of qualifications that a successful applicant MUST have. Of course, their list is ridiculous and no one actually meets all facets of the criteria. They interview those who have some or most of the "necessary" criteria, and they hire based on those interviews. The "must have" criteria is basically a wide net that they cast hoping to find someone who can check off a few of the items on their checklist.

My point here is that Chicago is clearly doing something similar. They're casting a wide net. "If you want Sharp, you must trade us all of the things!" They'll get one or two of the things on that list. No one is trading a 1st + an A-level prospect + a top-6 on an entry level.

To Chicago: Jaden Schwartz, Ty Rattie, 1st
To St. Louis: Patrick Sharp

That would be insane. Never happening. They would be lucky to get one of those pieces plus a 2nd or a 3rd.

I'm guessing the market is limited for Sharp because that's a huge salary and they'll basically be giving him away. Washington are supposed to be a potential landing spot?
