This was a refreshing read: http://theahl.com/hoffman-s-rise-all-part-of-the-process-p190480
We more or less wrote Hoffman off as a top prospect at the start of the year. He's 2ndin AHL scoring, fastest skater at the all-star game, and an all-star game mvp. While his +/- is nothing to brag about, the guy deserves a legitimate chance in the NHL to showcase his skills.
It astonishes me that players like Hoffman, Pageau, Da Costa, Stone, etc continue to get buried in the AHL for the likes of Greening, Conacher, etc.
I hope Murray uses this trade deadline and off-season to give these guys opportunities to play (whether in Ottawa or somewhere) in an effort to really bolster the top-six and address scoring depth in our forward ranks.
I'm not sure what it would take but I'd like to see the Sens find a way to add Ehrhoff and a legit top-six forward not named Stewart or Hemsky. I've been pushing Eberle for a while and I think the Sens have the depth, cap space, and roster openings (especially next year) to make this happen.
