Also let's not neglect the fact that we didn't have our two key offensive weapons in Karlsson and Spezza for much of the season, and when they returned, neither one was close to 100%.

I'll be immensely happy to reach the second round again next year. ( Especially if it would mean knocking the habs out again). My expectation aren't as high as the sens brass.

There's a million variables to each season. If someone had told me the injuries we would suffer, I would have assumed we'd be in the running for 1st overall in the draft (as many of us assumed when Karlsson went down).

With a relatively healthy lineup, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to make the second round again. Even if we have the same lineup...with fewer injuries, we should, in theory, be a much better team.

Apparently Hossa will play tomorrow. That is good.

Yes that is good... they really missed him last night. No way the Hawks buy him out or trade him... without him the lineup... there is a big hole to fill.

Really impressed with Frolik and Peverly - especially Peverly, that guy is really good. If he becomes a cap casualty, we'd do worse than to look at him. Wins faceoffs, can play the point on the PP, has some really underrated skill.

Wow is right. I actually felt bad for the Boston fans. You go from expecting a Game 7 to losing the series in 17 seconds...ouch. Someone told me this morning that Chara was on the ice for 8 of the last 9 Chicago goals or something like that...maybe he tired out, but apparently he was injured too.

Also, from TSN: "Bruins centre Patrice Bergeron had a broken rib, torn cartilage and muscles in his ribs and a separated shoulder." Wow.

I'll be honest, glad that season is over... it was looooooong.  It's not even all that long until camp starts up again we are talking about next season.

That's what happens. I'd love to know what Toews' injury was. Most of them had something. Except guys like Subban -- don't think we'll ever read stories of him hiding injuries after winning (or losing) in the Finals. If he's their #1 D I don't think they'll ever have to worry about planning a parade.

48 game season and you're saying it was too long? I guess it's really just because that it ended so late. Training camp is still 12 weeks away -- that's a pretty long time. Free agency and the draft don't really do much -- keep your interest for a few days and then what?

David Krejci should have had the Conn Smythe. Most underrated player in the NHL.

I think most of us would agree that Kane should NOT have won the Conn Smythe. I would've given it to Rask before I gave it to Kane.

I think Bettman wanted to give it to a US American.

Yeah...I mean really it doesn't matter who wins the Conn Smythe, it just seemed like a bit of an odd choice. The fact that the Blackhawks had 4 or 5 guys that could've won it just shows what a great team they are.

Crawford should have gotten it. No way they win the Cup without him.
