Good move - identify your core players.

For Ruutu? That's a massive overpayment if accurate.

Bobby Mac is saying $4.75 / yr.

Looks like you owe SD a coke. Smile

Frustrated1 It just doesn't make sense. He's an alright player, but that's just Cussing crazy.

EDIT: He has 30 points, and he's getting Alfie money. Alfie money.

Trading Kuba would be the dumbest move you could possibly make. If anything the guy should be resgined. Such a valauable and under-appreciated piece in Ottawa.

Agreed. Just saying that he should be (theoretically) worth more than a 3rd.

LH Kubina. That's what Kuba's actual value would be.

Now that the numbers are trickling in on Ruutu, someone lost a bet...

Spader, your thoughts?

These things are 50/50 at best. No wonder GMs look stupid half the time. Laugh1

Funny, isn't that what everyone has always thought about Vermette?

He has more value than a 2nd and a 4th IMO. If guys like Moore are getting 2nds, Vermette should have gotten a 1st +. Washington are out of their minds for not acquiring this guy. Crazy.

Why is Vermette so valuable to Washington?

The point's been made here - and I agree with it - that Vermette can be a great 3rd line C or a defensively sound 2nd line C - or a fill in for when Backstrom's hurt being the defensive conscience for AO. He's also a top FO guy and a really solid PKer - things that Washington needs to improve on. Also takes some pressure off Johansson (sp?) and allows his to develop without the intense pressure.

Washington needs to get rid of Semin and take a direction with their team and for the cost that Vermette was to Phoenix, I think that would have been really worth a try.

Maybe young Mike Ribeiro ends up in D.C. then?

That guy on the Team (don't know who it is) says that young Parenteau would be a good fit

Yeah, the price will be very high though. 2nd + prospect I would imagine. The guy's been doing it all year without playing with Tavares a lot of the time.

Was that the loss that finally makes MacPhee in Washington make a couple of big trades, or is tonight the night Lombardi in LA gets off his Donkey with LA being shutout - AGAIN.

If Dallas will eat a bit of salary that might not be too bad, but is he too much of the same - all skill, not enough heart?

Big week coming here...

LA is rumoured to be in on Okposo (from Dreger).

EDIT: He's having a really nice year and I like him as a player, but LA needs a pure sniper...kind of like...Nash.

Could we get Forbort for Foligno, or is that pipe-dreaming?
