Math Problem - Crazy!

Do it!

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.

Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)

1. Key in the first 3 digits of your phone number (Not the area code)
2. Multiply by 80
3. Add 1
4. Multiply by 250
5. Add this to the last 4 digits of your phone number
6. Add to this the last 4 digits of your phone number again
7. Subtract 250
8. Divide the number by 2

Neat.

So i imagine that you get your phone number as the final answer?

That weirds me out. I'm going to have to tell my Wife that one to see if she can determine the key to this quandry (sp).

The key is steps 2 and on. They are geared to ensure you end up back with the 4 digit number you give it. You can do this with any starting number.
