One star, eh?

For what it's worth, I keep hearing Ohlund's name QUITE seriously...

The trick is I'm trying to find out if Ottawa is a team he'd waive his NTC for...
Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath. It's practically DEAD rumor-wise on the Sens front *shaking fist at Murray* damn you and your GAG order!!

Who are we taking in though? It better be someone to kill it on the back end because to me, Vermette and Kelly are better players at this moment and time than Shannon or Zubov or Bass. This would free up around 3.5 million, couple with the 3.2 million. I agree, but this is a risky move unless you're acquiring one mother of a D-man.

Me too. Twice today. Sources rumours are all very low on the quality scale though because of the gag order. So nothing's happening that we can put our fingers on right now. We don't need to do anything until January at the earliest (read: when we can re-sign any UFA that we acquire).

It's really not worth even repeating. It's a silly rumour (Fisher does NOT waive his NMC) from a guy who won't divulge his source.

Though, this confirms what we all thought: Vokoun's at least looking at options. He doesn't wanna be in Florida anymore, that's for SURE.

Exactly. As much as we have Vermette and Kelly with one foot out the door, there aren't better replacements for them on the farm at the moment.

I agree. Not until the end of this year in Bingo, where they can come into training camp next year and take the jobs away (Zubov and Z.Smith that is).

oh, and Matt, unless we're getting a HUGE return, Foligno is going NOWHERE... you can trust me on that one. Murray has a very big soft spot for him. Once the Kelly and Vermette thing is taken care of (whatever that may be) you'll see Foligno being given a consistent assignment where he can concentrate and flourish.

As for Ohlund, the ABSOLUTE latest I heard is that it's Murray that needs to convince Gillis to let him go... Take that anyway you wish... Wink

Really? I heard the ball was in Ohlund's court. They can't afford him going forward and they wouldn't mind adding a piece up front.

But again...a LOT of BS floating around.

Heater,

I don't necessarily buy that ball being in Ohlund's court.
However, I suppose the REAL truth could be that Ohlund WOULD waive for Ottawa, and perhaps GILLIS doesn't want to move him right away, but at the deadline instead? I wasn't given any indication on that, but it's still just pieces from one fella and another fella providing more crumbs, kind of thing, you know?

Either way, we ALL know how persuasive Murray can be. If he REALLY wants Ohlund and Ohlund wouldn't mind becoming a Sen, it'll happen.

oh, anyone else stoked to see what Shannon can do on the PP?
Wait, I assume if he was tearing it up in Bingo on PP they'd throw him in for sure, right?

No worries. I wouldn't be that complacent about a Foligno trade. I love this guy's potential. He's absolutely a Murray-type player.

He's not the "PLUG" I wanted to see in the lineup tonight. I really wanted to see Zubov or Smith get the call to be honest. Shannon i sfine for two games against the Isles, but if we lose any of these two games, there's going to be shake up. Murray and Hartsburg and ALfie are not happy with how the team is playing.
