That is of course if you have Rogers and you have digital cable. I did it before the last game and got to watch Ottawa cream Buffalo :D and I'll get this game as well.

Interesting. I don't like playing those types of games (it's kinda like a bait-and-switch but in the reverse direction) but I'm intrigued nonetheless.

I don't like doing it at all either, but it worked last time.. and if it's the only way i'll get to watch them, then really I have no other choice... But I agree it is very lame that we have to go through this whole process in the first place...

Yeah supposedly this deal is good for the month of October... So two more days...

No good for me. I have Bell Expressvu. I wanted to get the NHL network but the package it came in sucked donkey balls. The one I ended up with has the NFL network which sucks because I couldn't care less about the NFL. Anyone here know how much it is to order JUST the NHL network through Expressvu?

Yeah I really don't know with Expressvu... Can you order channels by themselves? I know with Rogers you can order any channel by itself for $2.95 I think...

Boo! Not even crappy SD on A-Channel? I refuse to pay Rogers any more money than I already do (and, yes, they get a cut for ever CI or NHLN subscriber). I don't even have TSN-HD so I have to make do with CBC-HD, SNET-HD, TSN-HD and the odd US-network telecast.

Good thing Team 1200 is still free.

The pragman has confused me.

Also, Team 1200 is a good thing.

That should have been TSN-SD.

I was saying "boo" that it's *only* on NHLN. That's two games in a row that I cannot watch. I already pay Rogers $85 plus change every month (mind you, that includes internet and HD) but I refuse to pay more. For instance, does it make sense that I pay for HD, and I pay for time-shifting, and I pay for US Networks, but time-shifted US Networks in HD is extra? For $8.95 more per month I would get the time-shifter US networks (HD) and TSN-HD, plus a bunch of stuff I'd have near-zero use for.

With Internet? That's not too bad (depending no your MBPS-down).

I'm teetering with the idea of CI Online vs CI + Slingbox.

$85/month for cable, internet and HD is pretty damn good actually.

NHL Network is just part of the Sports package on Epressvu. It's a great channel for showing all the game highlights each night (NHL on the fly).

I'm surprised they are showing tonights game ... and the last Sens game. Do you have to buy a "full" sports package on Rogers to get the NHL network channel?

No you just have to order the NHL network.

No you can get it alone for $2.95/month

right now though Rogers has a deal to order the "Sports theme pack" (NHL network plus a bunch of other random sport channels) for free for the first 3 months... I just cancel it after 3 months and you end up paying nothing..

BTW, Shanny has finally stated that he is now on the open market.

Saturday's game against TBay seems to be broadcast by no one... that is odd.

If the Sens play a game, and it isn't televised... does it still count?

How does CI not show this game if no Ottawa stations show it? I thought that was the stipulation... I am so sick of the shoddy Sens coverage...

I also did that...was a great idea!! What sucks is our only other game on NHL Network is January 29...and my 3 free months ends January 26th...

however keeping just NHL Network is $2.79 a month...so I'll just keep the channel for the one game and then cancel...

I figure an extra $2.79 is a hell of a lot cheaper than the $12.99 each I used to pay to watch 6 PPV games...

C'mon Auld... I feel the S word for tonight!!

I dunno, does it count when you don't actually say it? The mer thought of it might have tipped Karma the other way. If they score with 2 seconds to go I blame it on you. *YOU* get the minus one in that case.

Seriously Croner...what were you thinking??

Yeah exactly... and in the end NHL network is actually not that bad after I looked into it...

He would look great on the top line with Spezza and Heatley.

It's only 1M down. For TV, I get the VIP package plus one theme (the one with all the home decorating/remodeling and hospital drama channels -- would I rather pay the $9 for TSN-HD? you betcha, but it's not my choice). I got a weet deal about three years ago when I handed in my two 2700 receivers (BEV) and got an HD-PVR, a second SD terinal and a cable modem, all rent-free for life (as long as I remain a Rogers customer). I also got a couple of free PPVs, all-you-can-watch for 3 months and some other stuff, but that's all long-gone.

So I get the PVR ($25), 2nd terminal ($5?) and cable modem ($3) for free, plus since I "rent" the PVR from them I don't pay the extra HD fee. Yes, it's a sweet deal, but honestly, if it wasn't for the freebies, I'd be switching back and forth between Rogers and BEV every two years (and getting the 24-month rent-free -- you can still get that, but you mihgt have to ask several times, going up the chain).

Oj, and I also get 15% off because I have three services (I think they count HD as a separate service from SD-TV). I've been itching to pull the trigger on getting HomePhone -- don't think it would save me all that much over Bell, but I'd get some features (like Caller Id) for the same price. I'm just concerned that I might have to increase my intenet access.
