When we need the cap space, other wise he will warm the bench. No point in creating BS and then giving Elliott no games. Unless we take on a big salary then its not gonna happen.

Well...according to Eklund were are E4 on Khabi.....oh wait, that was two days ago.

Apparently, now the NYI are basically going to take Khabi as a salary dump so they can auction him off at the deadline. :lol!:

HB gets more ridiculous by the day.

You freely admittedly that Weber was better defensively then J-Bow or Phaneuf, yet feel that both are better offensively overall. The only logical conclusion is that you are basing this decision with a bias towards offense. In all probability, Bow and Phaneuf will never be the calibre of Weber in their own end, particularly Phaneuf, who like I stated earlier, tends to be caught out of position due to his overwhelming urge to make a highlight reel hit. J-Bow would be alot more effective if he used his size more.

So basically it's not a fair comparison. If you aren't willing to factor in the defensive aspect of the game you really aren't looking at who the better overall defenseman is, rather you are looking at who the better offensive d-man is. Personally, I'd rather have a stud in my own end who can QB the PP and can chip in points (remember that Weber's best season for goals is better than Bouw's best season for goals), rather than a guy who MIGHT net me 10-15 extra points but be worse defensively in his own end. Which is why I'd take Weber everytime over these two. Hell I'd take Brent Burns over both of them too.

Bouwmeester might be the best skater in the whole league.

Ya I said that earlier, because he really is. He makes it look effortless... man he would look go QBing a PP with Heatley Spezza and Alfi... and have Picard back there with the cannon. SPEAKING OF WHICH Picard played a great game and seems to be getting better every game.

Eklund is a goof, simple as that. He has no clue.
Bouwmeester might be the best skater in the whole league.

Nothing boring about a win you get to read about after the game is done Wink

Man, that was a game that usually wouldn't go our way. It was sooo friggin hard getting through their neutral zone - and I guess vice-versa. I like that we fought through it and like most of you, I felt really good knowing that Auld was back there.

Boy...when that Neil - Kelly - Ruutu line gets going, it's really fun to watch their forecheck.

I like this win a lot - it was really gritty.

I only heard the first on the radio, but things weren't going well. Sounds like they gutted one out. These are the types of wins that the team needs to get things going. All and all, a good day in Sens land.

That was also the type of game that could totally deflate a team if they lost it. Let's keep this momentum going... TBay on Saturday! GO SENS GO!!!

Pretty frustrating game for the first 2. Got a little more open in the 3rd, but this definitely reminded me of the Sens when Murray had them going. Great, but not spectacular goaltending, kept the Panthers to the perimeter for the most part and gutted one out for sure. I think either way the Sens would've been okay with the effort tonight, but to win is massive. Good day for sure...

I'm very comfortable with Auld in net. Now we just need a guy to move the puck on the blue-line IMO, and we're pretty well off.

When's the last time the Sens won both games on a road trip to Florida?

I can't imagine anyone being a better pure skater than Gaborik.

Me neither. I think he might be the best skater since Bure.

Mattias Tedenby (I think a NJ draft pick) is freaking fast as well. So is Mason Raymond in Vancouver.

Yeah, still noticing that big time. Give me someone on that backend to move the puck with authority and I agree, I feel very comfortable with Auld.

...although...Auld's due for a stinker. Are we?

I don't think (hope) two consecutive wins schedules us for a stinker.

Auld isn't making death-defying, highlight reel saves, either. He hasn't needed too. He's just good positionally and big. He's almost like a poor man's Giguere.

LOL, fair enough. Let me re-phrase: Auld will probably have a bad game or two if he gets to play a fair stretch of games. I just hope (and this is just my personal preference of Auld over Gerber) that we don't have to revert back to Gerber as our 'bonafide' number one if/when that happens.
