Kastelic and Kelly are legit fourth liners. Looking solid.

He’s not Pageau but he brings a lot of what Pageau was for us.
He’s a guy that will definitely help us win.
Kelly takes a lot of careless penalties. He'll have to reign that in next yearEv wrote:Kastelic and Kelly are legit fourth liners. Looking solid.

He’s better than pageau offensively
So IMO we have a 4th line pencilled in at Kelly-Kastelic-Watson. We have Formenton-Pinto-Brown as our 3rd line. And a top six of Norris, Tkachuk, Batherson, Stutzle. We're missing two top six players .Flo The Action wrote:Ev wrote:Flo The Action wrote:Formenton isn’t a guy we should try to part with unless we have to.

Well he’s having an excellent year and I think they bring that same kind of difficulty for other teams as they are both PK specialists and with their speed create opportunities to score SHG although I think Pageau was a little better but this is just the beginning for ForMenton.
At any rate, I wouldn’t want to pet ways with him. He’s proving he cane play top 6 and flirt with 20 goals. Ok, he’s likely been allowed better minutes than he’d normally be but if he’s on a third line with Pinto I think he could very well put up similar number.
I’d be very weary to trade him.

Defense: Chabot, Sanderson, Zub, Hamonic, Holden + one of Brannstrom, Del Zotto, Zaitsev, Thomson, JBD or UFA.
Goaltending: Forsberg + Murray or Gus
Is this good enough for a playoff spot ?

Connor brown is not a top six forward. He's a third liner. I'd prefer Joseph goes back to the top line as a role guy and moving bath to L2 with GirouxFlo The Action wrote:DefenceWinsChampionships wrote:So IMO we have a 4th line pencilled in at Kelly-Kastelic-Watson. You haven’t slotted Joseph anywhere.
I do agree that we need an upgrade in the top 6. One of those will come hopefully with Giroux. I could see Conor brown shifting to the left.
You have
Tkachuk Norris Bath
Brown stuezle Giroux
Formenton Pinto Joseph (thats going to be a fast line)
Then a mix and match of guys on the fourthline.
I would have liked to pencil white on the fourth but I don’t think the team plans to have him here next year. We’ll see what that trade looks like.
That’s a pretty capable top 9 right there.
Id only like a slight upgrade with a top 4 D coming in and this is starting to look like a playoff team.
Chabot - trade/zub
Holden/Sanderson- trade-zub
Holden/Sanderson - Harmonic
Extra MDZ and you work in Lassi and JBD with injuries.
I would imagine Brannstrom is a key piece in a trade for a top RHD.

I wonder if they would let Sanderson have a game at the NHL level before sending him to the B-Sens. Remember, UND was definitely thinking he'd be in if they got to the Frozen Four or even the Regionals. We are well past that point now.

Edit: Turns out Pinto, White, C. Brown are done for the season. B Sens don't play until Saturday. Kastelic and Sabourin getting the call up. Not sure why Sokolov isn't getting into a game or two. This continued support for Sabourin continues to boggle my mind. Sure he played fine against Montreal but give a legit prospect a sniff. Sens play Florida, NJ and Flyers to end the season. Zero reason to address an enforcer.

I don't think we need to be concerned with a game or two at the end of a meaningless season. The focus should be on ensuring Belleville is as prepared as possible for the playoffs now, and maybe that includes keeping key pieces down there, remaining as focussed as possible on the AHL playoffs.
