I added more to the post you quoted if you care to share your opinion on that too. I like our discussion even though I think you are nuts in what you believe about Stutzle and Perfetti.

Askarov? Don't have much opinion but I don't think there's a chance they pick him after hearing Mann speak about the picks.

I don't believe much about Stutzle other than it's fact he's going to be a King or Senator, but I think people ranking him at 7-8 are just going for clicks when it's clear that legitimate scouts think he's a superstar talent and top 3 in this class.

Have a listen to Mark Edwards interview on TSN1200 yesterday. He's one of the best in the industry, and the Black Book is such a good source for rankings and analysis.

In a hilarious case of I don’t know what to call it, I’m the only mock on here that has Byfield going to LA. He is closer to going to NYR than he is to us. LA doesn’t make drafting mistakes lately. They aren’t passing on Byfield no matter how many connections to Germany they have and how much they need a W instead of a C. Drafting for position only matters when players are ranked extremely close in BPA. They aren’t passing on Byfield for Stutzle.

Ottawa will be the team making the first mistake. We are all used to that by now.

I will put my registration here on the line. LA takes Stutzle, I leave. I rejoice because we got Byfield, but I will leave.

All the more reason for some of you to continue your pipe dream of LA taking Stutzle. I will stick around for 24 hours after to face the music, but it seriously isn’t happening.

This is assuming all stays the same. But I can see a few things happening:

- Edmonton may try to swap picks with Florida to get Askarov
- Pit may drop down to add more 2nd rd picks in order to start their rebuild

I laughed just now at the bolded. Seemed like a good idea when you made your post, but then Pittsburgh went out and did the opposite and made another win now trade.

I think you big miss is Minnesota not taking a C. Everything else is plausible even though you have Quinn in the top 11. Draft day hijinks are always plentiful.

I actually like what Guerin is doing this summer. He's being aggressive which is what this team needs.

That Spurgeon contract is a killer, and I expect Parise/Suter will retire when their salary is well below their AAV, ie next year or the year after.

Moved Staal, moving on from Koivu, trade Dumba for a top-six forward, move Dubnyk and all of a sudden they're in a good position with a much younger team

My preference is to pick up Raymond (3rd)and Rossi (5th). We better not be picking up Askarov and I believe we will package our 28th pick and move up. Pick up either Jacob Perreault or Mavrik Bourque ( I know, another C) with the Rangers 22nd, they get our 28th pick and a 2nd round pick.

Dude nobody cares who is right or wrong so even if Byfield does go to Ottawa, it’s nothing to leave the site over, unless you really wanted to. Why are you saying we want you to leave? I would agree today that Byfield is more likely to go to LA as he is the slight favourite in the betting odds. Right now the favourite for Ottawa’s picks are Stutzle, Sanderson, and Peterka. Stutzle is a heavy, heavy favourite, and Sanderson is the slight favourite over Raymond, with Drysdale 3rd.

There’s still a lot of people having Stutzle to LA in their mocks, including the athletic, Sam Cosentino, Jeff Marek, etc so I wouldn’t bet any money on either Byfield or stutzle to LA.

Regardless what happens, I’m stoked that Ottawa is getting a future star in Byfield or stutzle, and new jerseys to boot. Tomorrow is a great day.

Anytime I see a weird name (Quinn) inside the top 11, I need to ask, did you purposely leave out Lundell?

I feel bad for Florida. Being 12 with a real drop at 11 sucks. Sort of like being Ottawa at 3 with Laf and Byfield being the only legit top 2. Basically leaves Florida and Ottawa with a huge chance of making the biggest mistakes.
