One thing I will say is that we've lost to a fair amount of good teams...or at least teams that have good records.

That pretty much tells me we’re mid Pack. Not good enough.

Sens have had one bad game all year against Montreal. I don’t think we’re mid pack at all, we’re in the top 10 of the league without question

Saw some ugly kid in a Pens jersey dancing when they went up 5-3.  Not sure who the bigger loser is, the kid or his parents who let him do that.

I would never let my kid go to a game wearing a jersey of a team that isn't even playing. Much less cheer against their home team.

Agreed. Still missing a top line winger though.

Any news or updates about CMac?

There's been nothing reported on him since he "failed" his physical in September. His only social media account seems to be on Instagram, and it's private. I'm pretty sure he's played his last game in the NHL, but I guess ya never know.

One of dzingel or white will be counted on to fill that role

... Chabot alongside Karlsson, Oduya in civvies dispensing sage advice on the locker room and, baby, you've got a stew going.

Yeah, I gotta say I've been a bit disappointed in Oduya. He did look good in a couple games and I remember a preseason one where he actually looked really good...but it's been downhill a bit here.

He's a pylon. There is a reason Chicago didn't want to re-sign him. Definitely not the right guy for Karlsson to play with.

I think Oduya has been perfectly fine for his contract. He makes a lot of plays that go unnoticed, especially his slides to break up passes or chances.

Oduya is simply the latest in a long string of Sens UFA signings of older players who only come here because Ottawa overpays (or *if* Ottawa overpays). He would not be making this money anywhere else in the league.

Ev, have you ever considered that, maybe, you've just gotten accustomed/acclimated to mediocre UFA signings?

Are you kidding? Overpaid? He makes 1 million base salary

If you think that’s overpaid especially in a Canadian market, you’re nuts

Ugh, he's got a decent stick, but he's rather useless,

He makes $250K if he is top 5 TOI (Wideman's icetime pretty much guarantees that one), doubt he makes it top-3 but that could be another $250K. He gets another $250K if he plays 41 games, which means he only has to play 30 more of the remaining 68; even having missed 3 games early on, he's still on pace for 64, so 65 is not out of the question, which would get him another $250K. And if the team makes the playoffs that's another $250K.

So by my reckoning he's nearly guaranteed to make $1.75M with a good chance at $2M.

It's not a bad thing to have a relatively cheap guy like Oduya around, and it is only a one year contract.

Anyway, can't wait to watch the game tomorrow afternoon! I'm going to keep my expectations for Duchene extremely low for the first couple weeks as he adapts.
