Dude, leave brassard where he is. We've been waiting for a left handed center for long enough

Amen.  You don't take a 29-year-old established 2C and suddenly change him into a winger to, presumably, make room for a guy coming out of college?

EDIT: Just read the reply. By the time Brown is ready to play top-six in the NHL Brassard will probably be retired.

yeah, just saw that. Would have been a good time to put in Chabot to see him play with price out.
Also would have liked to see some comparisons against Sergachyov

I don't know about retire... I think the soonest we see brown though is in two years. And of course white will start on the wing. And most likely on the RW with pageau as he's a right handed shot.

I'm hoping Chabot plays.

I've gotten out of the habit of even taking my laptop out on weekends. And I'm certainly not doing a GDT on my 5.5" phone.

Just listened to Boucher's presser. Early on in he said "Boro-wicki" and I must admit I cringed a tiny bit. But a short while later, without anyone prompting him about it, he corrected himself, pronounced it correctly (very well, actually) then joked how he should just call him "Boro" like the rest of them do. This guy is sharp as a tack, his attention to detail is scary. We should see how many Too Many Men penalties the Sens get this year and compare to previous years. Or penalties, in general.

Boucher said he hasn't yet decided if Chabot will play Monday or Tuesday. Definitely not tonight.

That would make the most sense. I don't think either of those guys is displacing any of our better veterans but are more likely to leapfrog guys like Lazar on the depth chart. Furthermore, White hasn't even signed yet so I wouldn't pencil him in just yet.

Oh, crap, I forgot he didn't sign. I realize he can't sign if he wants to keep his NCAA eligibility but he'd better sign after his season at BC is over and come in for a few games (playoff push). I don't think he could be eligible for playoffs but even just to get some games in (hopefully the Sens will clinch a spot before the last weekend and will be in a position to rest some players).

Realistically, Brown could spend 2 more seasons in Junior then another 2 in the AHL before he plays a full NHL season. And it would be another 1-2 years after that before he's a top-six player. So it could be 6 years -- Brassard would be 35.

I'd be lying if the vesey scenario hadn't crossed my mind. But he'd have to spend I think another 2 years in college to reach that point I think.

I don't see him taking that long. That's extreme, 3 years tops and that's including this one.

And that's if any of those guys aren't traded before then. Let's see how trigger happy Dorion can be in our win now scenario. I personally wouldn't make any move if it didn't involve a player the caliber of say drouin was coming back.

I find that timeline extremely unlikely. Sure, it's possible, but he's not a goalie. It's very unlikely that they develop him that long.

Brown is huge. Guys that size take longer. Who knows, when he starts with weights and adds 10 to 15 lbs he may lose a little speed. Chiasson was not, too, but not a very strong skater. Without speed, quickness and agility he won't make it out of the AHL. That could take a few years. Plus when he does make it to the NHL he is not going to be a top six player for a while. Certainly not at center. So I still stand by my prediction that he won't be replacing Brass are until he is 35.

Don't be fooled. He has already started weight training years ago. But he will get stronger for sure.

I don't see brown ever setting for in the Ahl. He's a day one player next year

Day one nhl next year for sure, unless he really sucks in training camp.

Watching both games again today to try and spot the adjustements in play. Boucher seemed really happy with the improvements. Gotta love YouTube.
