Just wrap that ring around the lobby garbage can.

Hope to see Jacques Martin on there.  Phillips and Neil, imo, should have their numbers retired.  Anyone who can stick around for a 1000 games (>12 seasons) with the sens is good enough to have their number retired forever.
You might start running out of space in a 20 years at that rate. Lalime is a name that could be put there although his playoff performances were not the stuff of legends. Hosea was great but didn't play long enough, fisher I'm not sure. There's an argument to be made for Spezza I guess. Jaque Martin is a good candidate. It's not like we have to fill the ring in the next 5 years and it's better to wind up in 30 years with 2 dozen people than to fill it up fast. Takes a bit of the prestige away from it if you do.
If anything the sens should invest in a little museum honouring the history and then you could have mementos of past great players in there like hossa, redden, lalime, Rhodes... that would be much cooler. But I doubt they make it happen until the new arena gets built.

I'd imagine getting your name on the ring of honor after the player retires....no sense in putting hossa or spezza's name up there now, so there shouldn't be a concern in filling up the names. Maybe Hossa is debatable though he was here for 6 productive seasons....Spezza + Fisher should be up there after they retire. Redden is a no-brainer as soon as next season.

So The Hoffer gets 2 games for something that deserves no more than a 5 minute penalty. And the league sends notice to players around the NHL that it's open season on "Karls" Karlsson with a token fine to the Pickle.

Ridiculous that they acknowledge that Vlasic did it, but don't suspend him. Diddle off.

I'd be less insulted if they ignored it altogether.

Seriously. Don't even bother giving him a pittance of a fine, just ignore it if you're not going to do anything about it.

They didn't acknowledge that he did out. They said he tried. Once again intent is disregarded. Keep in mind though that if Couture missed the next game the 2 games would have been higher. They mentioned no injury and no priors in the video. They also clearly felt the hook caused his hands to go up, so there was no intent for a head sit.

In other words they pretty much showed that five and a game was more than enough.

Another slap in the face. How NHLish.

Our final two games before the Christmas break are against Chicago and Anaheim...I would consider 2 points to be a great achievement.

Seems like this team is acapable of beating some of the best teams but it likely won't be a pretty affair if we do. I'll take the two points if we get them.

Anaheim is in a brutal road trip -- third game in four nights, sixth in nine. Chicago is also playing their third in four, and everyone says it's easier on the road just before Christmas, so perhaps we catch the Hawks on an off night. Too bad Crawford is not slated to come back until Friday, wouldn't mind seeing a goalie first game back after missing 3 weeks with an appendectomy. On the other hand, Darling is a backup not used to playing this much. Or maybe kids' school plays and buying presents in on their minds. Anything.

There's nothing you said or can say that changes what I said. Thanks for trying, as always, to be contrarian though.

I agree as well. Getting 2 points will be just fine. Getting 3 or 4 will be an early Christmas gift.

I shall be vindicated, just wait and see. I also predicted the Neil shootout attempt will spur them on to a five game winning streak. 40% right so far.

So, you still think I was just being a contrarian? Chicago looked tired. When the Tootoo line looks faster than your top line something is off.

Lat night Anaheim was torched (roasted duck?) by the Habs (Galchenyuk, Desharnais, Shaw, Markov all out). The Ducks had double the PIMs (and Habs scored two on the PP) so the refs helped. but Anaheim just could not keep up with their speed. A tired team.

The Sens may not have quite match the Habs team speed, but with Galchenyuk and Desharnais out they are not that far apart. Last night the Sens were faster than the Hawks. Not all the time, but enough. Honestly, that 4-3 score was somewhat misleading and flattering to Chicago. They were outplayed.

Will they have enough to get past the Ducks? The Ducks will be just as tired from chasing the Habs and they are probably can't wait to get back home to Sunny California. Normally the home team around the Christmas break is at a slight disadvantage with home distractions, but I think in this case the Ducks won't be thinking much of hockey, either.

At least that's my hope.

Have you considered putting a Habs logo in your avatar?
