Love the write up on Chlapik :

...leads Charlottetown in goals, assists, points, penalty minutes and shots on goal ...

What's Logan Brown's injury? Is he going to be back for the WJHC?

He hurt his wrist and has been in Ottawa rehabb8nf it. From what I understood he had to have played some league games before the tournament, which had not happened yet. But he was invited to the evaluation camp, I believe, so it sounds like they were confident he would be back.

This is from Nov. 25 and said it would be at least 2 more weeks:
http://ottawacitizen.com/sports/local-sports/first-round-senators-draft-pick-logan-brown-out-at-least-two-more-weeks

Interesting that he had been rehabbing with the Sens and actually skating with the Sens' injured players.

You'd think we'd have a thread for that. Sarcasm

Probably overlooked in the Ring of Honour discussion since we probably expect players to receive that distinction but this is a great guy to start with!

I was not listening. What's this about a Ring of Honour?

Did they talk about the other players that will be honoured? I imagine mr Phillips and mr Neil will be in that ring?

This is a great idea. I don't think players like Alfie who will have their number retired should be in that ring of honor. But this opens up a platform to honor off-ice personnel like Bryan Murray and ex-players who spent a long time with the senators like redden, fisher, spezza, lalime, hossa.

Hope to see Jacques Martin on there. Phillips and Neil, imo, should have their numbers retired. Anyone who can stick around for a 1000 games (>12 seasons) with the sens is good enough to have their number retired forever.

Well he's gonna have his jersey retired. I imagine the ring is a kind of lower level honour thing. The habs have one in Montreal, it's for guys that won't have their jersey retired. It be a bit of a double count if we stuck Alfie in there.

You might start running out of space in a 20 years at that rate. Lalime is a name that could be put there although his playoff performances were not the stuff of legends. Hosea was great but didn't play long enough, fisher I'm not sure. There's an argument to be made for Spezza I guess. Jaque Martin is a good candidate. It's not like we have to fill the ring in the next 5 years and it's better to wind up in 30 years with 2 dozen people than to fill it up fast. Takes a bit of the prestige away from it if you do.
If anything the sens should invest in a little museum honouring the history and then you could have mementos of past great players in there like hossa, redden, lalime, Rhodes... that would be much cooler. But I doubt they make it happen until the new arena gets built.

They should also gave a ring of dishonor for the likes of Heatley and Yashin.

Just wrap that ring around the lobby garbage can.

I'd imagine getting your name on the ring of honor after the player retires....no sense in putting hossa or spezza's name up there now, so there shouldn't be a concern in filling up the names. Maybe Hossa is debatable though he was here for 6 productive seasons....Spezza + Fisher should be up there after they retire. Redden is a no-brainer as soon as next season.

So The Hoffer gets 2 games for something that deserves no more than a 5 minute penalty. And the league sends notice to players around the NHL that it's open season on "Karls" Karlsson with a token fine to the Pickle.
