Very true. Plus it's ridiculous to assume Lazar will be protected. Laugh1 Laughing3

The guy has to make a living. They are not *dumb* but they are not going to be at all accurate in time. Nothing wrong in getting a discussion going, though.

I looked for a picture of a sad Lazar to reply to this. Not sure if one exists.

Hammond will start tonight in Bingo and will go two of the next three games. He's getting that conditioning stint whether he likes it or not.

Hammond won't be back with Ottawa until Condon or Matrix gets injured.

Yeah, he did himself exactly zero favours not accepting the conditioning stint.

What would he have gained by accepting the conditioning stint? At least by forcing them to put him on waivers there was a chance he'd be picked up. He knew either way he'd end up in Bingo. At least by forcing their hand he had an outside shot at being picked up.

Well said. Calculated move on the part of The Hamburglar.

There's a limit on how long a conditioning stint can last, there's no limit when you get waived.

Sportsnetsays bobby ryan can be exposed in the expansion draft.  I'd definitely expose him.

No way. A: I don't think he's untradable ie worth a return B: creates another gap that has to be filled, C who's more productive Ryan or lazar? You expose lazar if it comes to that.
Sure he's got a large cap hit but it's not like we would be using that space anywhere else.

Hammond with the 3rd star as he stopped 24 of 25 shots in a 1-0 loss. Yeah, he probably did not need conditioning.

That has a real potential to be an anchor contract.  it would be a chance at a do-over on over 40 million dollars.

Remember, I.was a huge supporter of signing ryan, but he's been underwhelming and for that kind of money, you need more production etc.  I think most are quite disappointed and a do-over, maybe even in free agency would be at least something to consider.

Interesting thought, of the Sens retain some salary and then trade him, then he was left unprotected and drafted by the Knights, I assume the Sens are stillstill on the hook for the retained portion.

He's put up 20+ goals so far and could still factor to put better numbers (I think it's still early at this point and would like to reevaluate at the end of the season) and even then you have to think there's a trade to be made. It's a lot of money sure but how often have we seen the senators go out there and find a scorer? We gonna trade for another one and lose more assets? Certainly won't be one coming through FA? So where do we find this magical replacement?

I would 100% expose Bobby to expansion, because he would not be taken. Pierre McGuire agrees with me, so I must be right.

And if he was taken then no biggie. His inflated salary could be used elsewhere.

You're right but, was he going to even get a chance to play without an injury? An injury occurs and he's called up. This was a no brainer.
