Dzingel has not looked out of place in comparison to Ryan, Brassard, Stone, Hoffman. Fact is he's still an undersized but fast forward who has spent most his time to-date in the AHL. If not for injuries and an internal budget he would either not be on this team or he would be on the 4th line. I'm very happy for him that he has taken advantage of the opportunity presented him. He's definitely a 7th round steal, but he's still a 7th rounder.

Just came to me. Maybe Dzingel's nickname should be fastforward. Like on old tape players. The old l>l> Symbol. Must be an emoticon for that.

You can't quantify what he's done because of injuries or anything like that. He's come into camp and been a presence in pre-season, then continued that over to the regular season. Boucher's not gonna watch him play and say that he's restricted to the 4th line. Besides, he tried keeping him on the third line and he played well enough to slide into the top 6 - which means nothing to me personally, but it likely means more icetime.

I think it was pretty clear last year that he was good too. I'm glad he grabbed the opportunity, but I'm not really surprised.

Personally, I don't think that matters very much once the player gets to the NHL. I mean, is that how you viewed Alfie? "Sure he scores a lot, but he's still a 6th rounder," would be a real silly thing to say, IMO.

I'm not suggesting that l>l> is an Alfie type player, just that draft position becomes irrelevant once you're in the big show.

There is a huge difference between scouting NA players today and Swedish players 20+ years ago.

Guess we will see.

How did we do with Hoffman and Ryan out? Did Pyatt, Dzingel and Puempel generate many scoring chances?

Nope. McCormick had a couple of decent chances. That was about it. Pretty pathetic game last night. If I paid to go see it in person, i would ask for my money back with interest, and I've been to games where leafs blew out the sens 5-0. Seriously shitty game last night

Boro's assessment was that it wasn't a case of Xs and Os but effort. Is it too soon for a players only meeting?

On, so Karlsson just got engaged. Maybe now he can get back to being the best dman in the league.

Oh, and congratulations, I guess.

Claesson returned back to Bingo. With Methot named up, wonder of the are thinking of bringing up Englund.

On second thought, maybe bring up Rumble (Darren's kid). Three points in six games since the callup from the ECHL and the only + on the entire team.

Bingo is horrible! Paul has one assist in twelve games. Perron is stuck on two goals since forever. Same with Lazar.

When Kostka leads your team in points and shots on goal you know you're in trouble.

I don't think anyone said Perron was ready -- Flea, did you say that? He's had 12 pro games.

As for Paul, he didn't look out of place in the NHL. 5 points in 24 games isn't a lot but it's certainly a lot better than 1 in 12 in a lower league.

There's something rotten in Bingo. Second worst in the entire league. Given up almost twice as many goals as they've scored. That's not the kind of atmosphere you want to develop your prospects. I guess the people in the city won't mind losing this team that much. Anything else would be better.

Claesson was sent down, apparently, to make room for some forward callups.

The Senators, who will likely have to bring up at least two forwards, wanted to wait until late Friday night before making a decision on call-ups. GM Pierre Dorion, assistant GM Randy Lee and goalie coach Pierre Groulx were off to Binghamton to watch them face the Albany Devils. After that, a determination on the roster will be made.

So it sounds like both Ryan and Hoffman are going to be out tomorrow. Crap.

Looks like they busted the slump in Bingo. Lazar just scored to make it 4-0. That's all in the first.
