I'm sure it means that concussions are overblown and no big deal.

When you have a severe concussion your eyes tire so quickly and easily that some people have to prop them open. Concussions are brain trauma. During a severe concussion, your brain can't take in stimulus. That's why many people with severe concussions have to spend the majority of their time in a dark, quiet room. The lack of stimulus allows the brain to rest. You can't watch tv or read or do anything really.

My guess is Mac propped his eyes open because that was the only way he could perform day-to-day tasks.

Guess Lazar's coming back up.

It. Is. Ovah!

Meanwhile, our old pal Milan Michalek hits the waiver wire.

Do we put in a claim? Might be interesting. Could probably use him.

Both michaleks waived this year.

I think the right move at this point is to play out the year with the current roster, give some of the guys in the A a chance, and hope Mac gets healthy. I'd also be looking at making a move for a goalie at some point or another.

I'd be playing Puempel, trying Dzingel on L2, and give Paul/Perron some chances later on in the season.

I'd also trade Ceci for Trouba. Fair deal IMO.

Sounds a lot like the last 3 seasons. Any chance we actually try to make the playoffs in the next while?

Yeah, doesn't seem to match up with the tem philosophy of win now.

Also Winnipeg is interested in receiving a LHD not a righty in return. I'd be down to make that trade but I don't see it happening.

I've been away from this site for some time....my first thought: wtf happened to Ev and why is he so off the deep end now? I don't know if he's just trolling ppl or what. Also he's wrong about 95% of the time so not sure what he's smoking.

Second, I've only had the chance to see the season opener and the last game against Tampa. Needless to say, it has been an unspectacular display. our special teams still sucks, top 6 is polarizing. Best player through first 5 games looks like Tom Pyatt.

It's early for sure so no need to panic, but our defense scares me yet again.

I don't necessarily see it being Winnipeg wanting a LHD. Trouba wants out because of the bottleneck on the right side - Winnipeg doesn't seem to care.

There would be no bottleneck in Ottawa for him and it would allow Ceci to play with less pressure in Winnipeg in the bottom pairing which is where he should be playing right now

Didn't they actually come out and say they wanted a top 4 LHD? scratch

There's zero chance we claim 9MM. Too much $$, and also it would just kind of clutter up the roster when I'm sure Dorion wants a space for Lazar.

I'm not sure of the order, except for line 4, but this is what we're looking at vs. Vancouver.
