I can't imagine teams planning without factoring in the escalator. As if the 'PA would not vote for more money in the salary pool.

I would hate to be a fan Of The ducks. That team has so many good players and they can't keep them all because of a self imposed cap they have on them by ownership.

The only way that trade ever happens is if we are getting Eriksson. And even then that probably means we are trading Ceci and moving phaneuf to his offside. And that ain't happening. Unless we are moving methot for someone else!!! Ok that's way too PS4 scenario. Dorion isn't holmgreb.

Methot will be gone next season in the draft. If we got lindholm we could play method with wiseman on the third pair

From what Elliotte said, it sounds like anything from 0-5% was/is an option with the escalator. So, I'll go one better. I can't imagine teams not coming up with a series of plans, each dependent on a certain window of cap escalation e.g., 0-1%, 1-2%, etc.

My best guess is one of Methot, MacArthur, Hammond, or Lazar is gone next season.

There would be no reason for q team to take hammond. It will be between methot and MacArthur and smith or maybe Lamar as well if we add a forward this summer

Hard to believe we could lose Lamar.
