I hope the balls fall our way 27 days from today. We haven't had great luck picking in the top 10 but outside the top 3:

Lee (coulda had Kopitar, Marc Staal
Cowen (Kreider, Ellis, Palmieri)
Zibanejad (this one's close -- Scheifele, Brodin)

P.S. I did not realize that the Sens ever drafted two 1st overall in a row: Berard and Phillips. Berard, of course, would not sign so we traded him for Redden.

Zbad was fine in that spot. I don't know why you'd criticize that pick. Scheifele, if I recall, was an off-the-board pick.

You're always going to find a player that they could have drafted. I think that's a bit of a fool's errand.

What about Tarasenko for Rundblad?

Did I criticize that pick? I said we haven't had great luck in the 4-10 range with Cowen and Lee. Zibanejad, as I said, is very close. He was certainly a better pick than Strome, who was taken ahead of him. With Couturier I think he was rushed at first, and then slotted in as a defensive specialist. So Zibanejad is certainly better on the O-side of the ledger. Scheifele has had better offensive stats, but because of injuries, not a huge difference. Brodin? The way SD drools over him you'd think he was better.

Cowen and Lee were both huge disappointment. Was Lee a Murray or Muckler pick?

I'd be happy with anything in the top 6 or trading down. Love to have Nylander on the Sens. Bring a new element to the battle of Ontario. William looks like he could be the real deal. Maybe Alex will be too

So who does everyone have as a favorited for the upcoming draft?
I'm gonna go ahead and hope we can nail a forward. A C or LW would be ideal in my book but that's clearly judging from current positional needs we have and those can change.

I like what I'm reading about that kid Clayton Keller and depending where you look, he could possibly wind up where we pick.
Tyson yost is another interesting name out there. I like what he's being compared to. Could make it to 12 for sure.

Obviously there are some Dmen out there that I won't be sad if we nail but only after certain forwards get picked ahead.

Especially where we are in terms of team timeline. I feel forwards take less time to develop and we might be needing them sooner.

Finally getting excited with the draft around the corner. Unfortunately I'll be in NYC during those dates so I'll miss he actual picking on TV.

Yeah, I think I'd agree we need a forward with high scoring potential.

This is an interesting list that values the players I like (which makes me believe we might not get them) but in my opinion might overvalue chychrun. I keep hearing he might be ahead of his development curve and might not have increasingly more to give.

They have Logan Brown at #12. Guess we're done, right?

Did I ever tell you he's a 6'6" C and his dad was born in Ottawa and played in the NHL? Born in the USA but played for Canada.

Logan sounds like a good pick also. I have my personal preferences but I feel we're getting a good player this year without a doubt. Plenty of good players in the top 15.
Wil they turn into to 2D or top line players is debatable but likely offensive threats and stable top 4's.
It's a good year to draft in the bottom half.

And weighs in at 220. Those are some good specs.

Diddle that guy sounds so good. He's big, calm, great shot apparently. He's also luke Richardson 's nephew funnily enough.
