Would've been nice to get some scoreboard help tonight, but at least we took care of our business.

Yeah, I'm stunned. Nice one!

I dunno how you guys wrote us off when we were only down 2 go a Dung team. We kind of have a habit of doing this, in case you didn't know.

Never forget that part of being a fan is actually cheering your team on.

Mika for Drouin. Now or never.

I'm not gonna even go back and look, but I imagine Sens Twitter tonight was a mixture of lamenting the Neil contract, and a bunch of "season over" nonsense.

How about that Anderson save...ohhhh boy.

Not sure Murray will want to deal Mika when we still have playoff hopes, but are without our #1 C.

Oh well, hopefully we can dismantle the Flames and go from there. Calgary sitting any of their trade bait?

Maybe it's a foreshadowing that Zibanejad scored his hat-trick-game-winning-goal with Turris not on the bench. Ironically it was a deflected puck to the face and not the ankle that got him off the ice.

Michallica wrote:what the Diddle.....down 2-0 on two weak goals.  Pull anderson, he's clearly not in this game

As much as I carp on "perfect" shots, the two from Gaudreau were just that. Far top corner on the rush on the first one, the second one was almost the same from the other side, and he let the shot go just as the screen in front was moving out of the way. Perfect timing, Anderson never saw it.

I do agree, though, that that first one was an easy save if all he does is hug the post and not go down early. From that angle, there's no need to go down at all.

Are you suggesting he meant to bank it in off Smitty's kneecap?

He has been playing with more confidence in the offensive zone. Should translate into more goals, soon, hopefully. Got the post last night so at least he's beating the goalie now.

tim1_2 wrote:So far outside the crease...that should count.

I was appalled it took them that long to review it. Not only was Ryan 2 feet outside of the crease, but the puck was on the other side, and the goalie reached out to make contact. I can see if the goalie is right on the edge of the blue paint and the forward skates *near* and dumps him, but 2 feet outside the crease (and at least one of the goalie's skates was outside as well) there's no way it should be even considered as interference. As much as I hate the trapezoid which prevents the goalies from venturing too wide behind the goal, I really think they need to do something about the crease. Maybe make a second ring, a foot wide. Any contact in that 1-foot area is incidental contact, no goal, not penalty. If contact is made inside the blue, no goal and a penalty; if contact made outside the 1 foot ring, call the penalty on the friggin' goalie for interference.

Got the shot through and I wouldn't doubt he was aiming for smith to get a redirect. That was a nice one.

And for the next post, Lazar is playing great hockey. How many points does he have in the last 10 games? I'd guess around 6. He's coming on

He had 6 in the 10 games coming into last night but now he's dropped to 4 (his 11th game back was his 2-goal game against the Leafs). Those were the only goals he's had in the last 19 games, though. That was my point, he's been playing with more confidence in the offensive zone and I expect the scoring will come. Hasn't yet.
