What's that based on?  Would like some facts or examples behind this rock solid statement.
The only adds in the last 2 years has been Ryan in a PR move after losing Alfie and Legwand after moving Spezza.

Factually incorrect.
Well known fact that the Ryan deal was well in the works before things went south with Alfie.

As reported by Sens management.

That's right. I forgot that they used Gonchars money for his signing. Good point.

So we should sign mediocre UFAs to overpriced deals? Or should we blame BM for not getting other GMs to trade decent talent? Which is the argument?
There have been trades out there to improve the club but the same refrain is reported every time, money in money out.

We hear it all the time, Bryan Murray would like to add a top 6 forward, but it has to be money in, money out, blah, blah

The insinuation there is that the Sens have walking away from bringing in talent because of money. But there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that that has ever happened. On the other hand, we've spend all this money on retaining talent, and just 3 days ago we were apparently seriously considering taking on Clarkson's contract, if it meant picking up the right kind of assets.

5th youngest team in the NHL. It's is very unsurprising to see us in the bottom 5 in terms of spending this year. With Hoffman, Stone, and Zibanejad all RFA this year, you know that has to change in short order.

The same Sens management that says "money in money out have to be the same." LOL. Obviously, we trust that latter statement, but this former one is pure PR BS, right?

If you think the Sens should be out spending money, under the premise that they have an internal cap, you're cheering for the wrong team. If your preference is buying players over developing players, Toronto is a better option for you.

Assume it's all bs, then what player should they have brought in that they didn't because they were unwilling to pay? I'm not asking for proof, just curious who you think they missed out on.

The Clarkson deal couldn't be done because the money couldn't be worked out according to LeBrun. I heard it was Greening to TO with TO retaining half of Clarksons salary. Money in, money out.

As for the spending going up, the payroll will likely still come in around 60M next year which will again be near the bottom.

I would like the team to be able to add players when the right ones are available without worrying about the salaries. This summer there will be talent available due to so many teams being in cap hell, it would be nice to get that veteran top 6 everyone seems to want so badly.

Money in money out because we're at the cap next year. Basically end of story.

Must move legwand and Cowen/Wiercioch and re-sign Condra. But that can be done off season.

I can't compete with those who see the future. I busy myself with what we're doing in the present.

Why would you trade Gryba? Makes no sense to me.

I imagine the team will have to spend close to $10 mil / yr just to keep Stone, Zibanejad, Hoffman, and maybe Condra, so if you're holding out for us to add a UFA... I dunno.
