I've always really liked Condra. No issue with him being a permanent 4th liner here.

I understand blaming Legwand, Greening, and Phillips to some extent, but we need to realize that this isn't why we're losing. Our top end talent isn't top end enough right now. And our D in general isn't good enough either. The only position where we don't need improvement is goaltending.

Don't think anyone is blaming those guys but it's pretty clear their roles on the team could be better served with guys with a little potential still or projects in general. #4 center, #6 D, and a 4th line winger... that ice time is much better served for guys like Wideman, Peumpel, Prince, Robinson, Grant, guys that may or may not be NHLers (I believe most in that group will be) but they deserve a shot and right now it's impossible with the log jam.

it's not about young guys in the AHL being able to do what our current guys are - you don't want to rush anybody. While a guy could play 4th line minutes here, they are better off developing in a bigger role in Bingo.

Precisely.

Wideman? Ready for his shot. Price? Deserves a look. Puempel? Same. Robinson? needs to a chance. Grant? Ready.

Point being is there are guys in Bingo filling those exact roles that are ready and some you can throw a bone to.

Would there be anyone who can honestly say a 24 and 25 year old D man and 4th line center in Wideman and grant don't deserve a shot over Legwand/Greening and Phillips? Other guys get a look here and there but there are depth players that do deserve a shot.

Wideman - where is he gonna play? It's not like vets are taking up the RD spots.

Puempel and Prince - Not with MacArthur, Hoffman, and Michalek playing well. Where are they going to play?

Grant - sure he can play but he's better off playing Top 6 in Bingo than 4th line in Ottawa. He will probably always be an AHLer anyway.

Robinson - not experienced enough

Bingo isn't even a good team right now. Just leave them down there for the whole year. It will do wonders.

I have no issue with leaving them down there the whole year if it'll do wonders for their development, I'm mostly annoyed that Legwand and Michalek have busted so hard for us. That's 7 million dollars flushed right down the toilet as of the right now. Michalek 'hustles' and he's a 'good guy', but he's friggin useless in terms of production - no one can argue that.

Legwand is 'ok', but we could easily put Grant in his place and lose nothing but experience - which has done us pretty much nothing anyway.

Phillips...well, why bother even talking about him right now.

Michalek has been pretty good lately IMO. Legwand hasn't but the good thing with him is you can trade him and get assets for nothing since we signed him as a free agent. Free picks.

Phillips is what he is. He can still play and he'd have value around the league IMO.

The young gets absolutely should get a look here and there, no reason no to and with all the guys signed to one way deals they stay in the lineup, simple as that.

Wideman you could find a spot for, LD/RD is legit but Phillips is pretty close to useless at this point in his career, LD/RD aside.

Grant is better off playing 4th line in Ottawa vs 1st line in Bingo because he's exactly that, a 4th line NHLer and he's ready.

Robinson has shown enough to get an extended look.
