Quick played well tonight, but the Kings D is overrated as a group.

Neil is still serviceable. if we can't make the playoffs then i'd look to move himĀ  but he's still effective on the 4rth line. it's a guy like smith that needs to get injured if he won't get traded. i really hope Pageau is getting a look soon. maybe this is it.

Neil and his line had a great shift early in the 1st that helped set the tone. Hoping for one of your most energetic, aggressive, and consistent forwards to be out of the lineup is beyond stupid. Neil has done nothing but earn his ice time all season. People that complain about him being in the lineup are clueless idiots.

I think I have made my opinions on Neil pretty clear but it's tough to find any justification (from both sides) in not moving on. Ā Neil is still a good NHL player (unlike another vet who wears #4) and will have value in a trade but the problem is then who takes Neil's spot? Ā 2 years ago I would have said Smith but wtf happened to him? Ā Maybe a guy like Kramer gets a look down in Bingo? Ā Do they have to go out and make a Prust like signing? Ā Tough to say.

Anyways, hopefully Methot gets "healthy" soon so they can start packing his bags, hopefully Neil heals up and they can give him a real chance at winning a cup, and hopefully Phillips is just flat out traded at some point because he's a complete liability.

Would even look at moving Anderson at this point, give him a chance on a team who can win some games for him as well. Again I'll look right at Minny, Washington, and maybe San Jose and Dallas.

You never know what happens but I question that take. That said Ceci is going to be a very good player for a very long time so maybe it does happen at some point, who is to say?

Not the simmer. Please agree that he is a moron.

I would say he thinks people care more about his opinion then they actually do. Stupid? No, he has something up stairs but I question a lot of his takes on certain players, this one on Karlsson vs Ceci is one of them.

That was a pretty moronic statement by The Hockey Simmer for sure.

If we end up trading Neil for decent value, that's fine...I just don't get it when people rag on him or act like he's somehow bringing down the team.

I'm fine with trading whoever as long as it makes sense...I think Anderson could get something real nice as we get closer to the deadline. We just need a couple real significant injuries (say, to Rask, Miller, Fleury, or other prominent #1 goalies), and there could be a bidding war for Matrix .

Those people are as smart as The Hockey Simmer.

Neil has never and will never bring any team down he plays on. Does he have moments where you say "wtf?", yah he does but there aren't a lot of players where that isn't the case. He's a warrior, nothing short. Does what he's asked, does it well, knows his limitations, and works his a$$ off. For a decent return (2nd rounder or better) it's worth it to give it a go especially in this draft coming up.

Anderson, who knows what he can fetch but again I think they should be going after draft picks in the first two rounds coming up here, it could be over hyped but this is a draft where you want lots and lots of picks.

Neil would bring back probably a late rounder at this point in his career. That being said I don't see him playing anywhere else

Anderson could likely garner a late 1st rounder. I'd rather get a good young prospect, but who knows. The goalie market is kinda unpredictable. As I said, we need some key injuries first.
