It's hard to figure out why Dunn has dropped off so much. I doubt it's because he's a loose cannon or anything like that. He was pretty consistent up until this year. He's one to watch and see if he explodes for points or if he continues his decline, because for a while he looked like he might be a nice mix of pugilist and a tiny bit of skill.

Well that's exactly what he is... whether it's because of that he is failing as a prospect right now is debatable but he's a guy who has always had attitude problems.

Too bad he doesn't have a coach to reel him in and say that you can use that aggression on opponents, but if you don't put up numbers as well, you'll lose your spot on our roster and guaranteed you'll slip in Ottawa's depth charts.

I would imagine he'll get the message, if that's the case, and we'll see a stronger performance from him going forward.

Holy lord:

Stephane Da Costa - CSKA KHL - 18 games played, 14 goals, 14 assists. Vertigo

He has more issues than just a bad attitude, it was a bad upbringing and no coach is going to sure that on his own. Dunn may very well turn it around but he has issues without question.

Guy was breaking out in the NHL last season but the poor decisions made all year last season forced him to Russia. If the Sens were smart they would be resigning him to a 1 way deal at the end of this season. Guy is ready to be a point producing NHLer and that's something Ottawa needs but they wanted that spot to go to Zibanejad... hope it works out.

It won't hurt us, we retain his rights and our lineup was chalk full. He impressed though and he'll get another chance I would assume.

Da Costa was legit in the middle of last year, didn't like it when he was sent down at all.

I agree, but we had to assess Hoffman as well. Can't recall who else was called up.

Anyways, if they let Da Costa walk it's a mistake... he's probably has the most pure talent of anyone that plays a forward position in the organization. It's unreal what he can do with the puck.

DaCosta could have been in a plum situation with two large wingers with skill. The perfect complement to a smallish, skilled Centre.

Da Costa with Ryan and Chaisson would be ideal IMO but there was still proving to be done on his end and they liked Zibanejad and his size more. Hopefully next year Da Costa is given a shot up the middle in Ottawa, he could be an absolute gem for the team.

I always thought he should have been given a one way. There was not a single red flag in his game and I don't get it until this day why they just let him rot in Bingo.

Hogberg putting up ok numbers in Sweden's top league, no easy for a 19, 20 year old.  Just needs to keep developing, love the size he has.

So you're saying Dunn is ... done?

Paul and Harpur named to the Subway Series roster. Not that big a deal but I'm hoping that means Harpur's injury is not serious.

I recall we were all surprised they sent him back to Bingo, but I thought in the long run it would continue to help his development. Now...he appears ready and he's part of a numbers games where Murray wants to see his draft picks first. Fair enough, but this coming off-season, hopefully he gets a chance.

there were some questions about DaCosta's ability to play in the NHL due to his size and physicality. I think zib was given the tap also because of this. Now in the KHL where they play a less physical game it is possible he flourishes there as opposed to here. i'm not saying he shouldn't be given a chance here but i could see how there could of been different opinions on who should be given a chance. also didn't DaCosta have to go through waivers? i can't remember but since no other teams picked him up that would signal other teams weren't interested.
