Predict Spezza's return

Id Dater is to be believed than it looks like O'Reilly is going to be traded and traded very soon before teams can actually talk to UFA's and RFA's.  Is there a deal to be made around O'Reilly and Spezza?  I think the Sens need to add a D man without question in any deal involving O'Reilly.

Aren't there enough Cs in COL already? Might be a deal to be made with Cowen + something else? But that's a discussion for another thread since this one is to "Predict Spezza's return."

Colorado had interest in Spezza before the deadline so it could be part of it.

My sources told me this as well back in February.

If you are looking for the best possible return back for Spezza that could very well be it especially if the expect to lose Stastny too.

Spezza and Wiercioch for O'Reilly

Would make sense for them but I am thinking they would probably want Cowen which I would do in a heart beat.

Because they can't afford to pay O'Reilly 6.5 million a year?  They have a ton of guys to sign and like I said in Feb/March they need to manage their money.  Sens and Avs held talks about a Spezza for O'Reilly deal and short term Spezza makes a lot of sense for them especially if they lose Stastny and O'Reilly.  Long term they can probably lock Spezza up for 6-8 years at around 6-7 mil.

So would Stastny be and they want to resign him too.  Spezza as a 3rd line center and PP specialist IMO is exactly where you would want him in your lineup.  Anyways, we'll see.  I am not expecting O'Reilly in a Sens uniform but would be doing back flips if it ever happened.  A center ice of Turris/O'Reilly/Zibanejad is as good as any team in the East not in Pittsburg.

I don't understand. What's the difference between paying O'Reilly the money or Spezza the money? Unless you're suggesting moving O'Reilly for Spezza so they can let Spezza walk next summer - to which I'd say, no chance they even think about that.

Who knows what happens with O'Reilly.  Truth is they are going to have to trade him and it would be tough to get a better player back than Spezza on top of Cowen/Methot.  We'll see.

Toronto would offer Dion Phaneuf which Col would prob take over Spezza.

I predict Spezza's return will be a 2nd line NHLer (TJ Oshie type) and either a good prospect OR a 1st rounder.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a Spezza for Bouwmeester trade as a 1 for 1 go down.
