Who the heck knows at this point.

Would you not want Saad then?  Sarcasm

lol. Not a big stats guy but:

Brandon Saad 11-12
44GP - 34G - 42A
74 NHL pts

Rickard Rackell 11-12
60GP - 28G - 32A
4 NHL pts

There must be an age difference and AHL experience difference as well.

I don't think we win any trade involving Anaheim. They won't give up any key pieces and Palmieri, DSP, and Bonino are all third line guys on a stacked Anaheim team. I'd prefer bringing in Berglund +. At least you know he can play at the NHL level full time. I'm not sold on anything Anaheim has to offer.

The Sens need an NHL player back, no question.  IMO Berglund is probably the best player right now, the best player in the future may very well be DSP, and the guy who might be hit or miss is Bonino (I think he's solid).  All depends on what teams are willing to offer I guess.

Same draft. Saad barely played in the AHL.

In fairness, Rackall did very well in the AHL.

There are questions obviously - like, can Berglund add onto his point/goal totals with a bigger role with the Sens? What is DSP's upside? Etc. etc. etc.

Saad was supposed to be a top 10 pick but he had problems in his draft year, I forgot what. He is a top talent. Rackell was never considered that good. I don't think he has much potential. He's not gonna be much better than a Shane Prince, Pageau, Puempel etc. so I don't really see him on this team's future.

Team I would be looking to deal Spezza to Nashville or Dallas to be honest, they have a ton of younger players who can step in now or soon plus they have solid draft picks to give.  Dallas is a dark horse in this.

Like Ritchie a lot for a prospect... I think Chiasson could be had for sure, Nichushkin isn't going anywhere though.  They have their 1st round pick still... Faksa is there too.

Apparently Ryan Kesler is now available.

Will the Sens be in competition for dealing Spezza and will the return be less due to Kesler?

Now Kesler has a 6 team list that he will go to, where Spezza has a 10 team list he can't go to.

Lots of big name centres being available this offseason.

Yeah, here's a link to TSN's article about it: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=454191

Kesler is available and it's possible Thornton and/or Marleau might be as well. Bad news.

Do you think that both Vanc & SJ would try to trade these players to the East, while the Sens trade Spezza to the west? I don't think Van or SJ would trade their players within their conference.
