We need players who can make a difference, not complementary players.

Come on...you of all people know why that trade is good for us. We need depth and a high level of competitiveness at every forward position, he brings that and Rackell looks like he'll be a player too.

You are not getting Lindholm out of Anaheim. Forget that.

Any chance he didn't put Edmonton on his list of 10?

Doubtful.
I'd rather not get cogs to be honest. i think he's having a career year and we can get better then that. I like dallas as a destination and what they could offer. also spezza would play behind seguin. works for them.

For Ottawa to be competitive, I think it's going to take 2-3 trades. I'd be happy with a high-level prospect and a top-four D/top-six F for Spezza assuming other trades will happen in the off-season.

To Anaheim: Jason Spezza, Erik Condra
To Ottawa: Jakob Silfverberg, Hampus Lindholm, 1st rd pick

If the rumors surrounding Ottawa wanting Chris Stewart are true then it'll probably happen this off-season.

To Buffalo: Mark Methot, Shane Prince
To Ottawa: Chris Stewart

Last season Ottawa was apparently really high on Evander Kane and it seems like his time is running out in Winnipeg. Edmonton also really needs to acquire some defencemen and seems like Eberle is the player they could be dangling.

To Edmonton: Coling Greening, Jared Cowen, Mark Boro
To Ottawa: Jordan Eberle

MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Eberle-Stewart
Silf-Zib-Stone
Smith-Pageau-Neil
Da Costa

Lindholm-Karlsson
Claesson-Ceci
Wiercioch-Phillips
Gryba

That D has no toughness...

After watching that LA/SJ game last night... Spezza may end up in SJ.. if they lose that series.

Up 3 games to 2 now.. going back to LA... Could be a game 7 with the momentum to the Kings..

Momentum rarely carries over from building to building in the playoffs. Between periods of the same game, or between games in the same pair of home games in the first four.

I'd be shocked if the Sharks don't take the series in 6.

They 'should' win the series after being up 3-0.. but you can never count the Kings out. And SJ, in the past, just didn't have 'what it took' to put teams out. Is this their year, finally.

Nope but history does tend to repeat itself, that's why I am not sold on the Sharks at all.

Wasn't that long ago after two lop-sided wins quite a few people were ready to hand them the Cup right then and there.

I sure wasn't.

Anyways with the Blues going out the way they did, unable to score, they are going to make a major push for a center. Derek Roy just didn't work out the way they wanted it to, lol.

He was paid 4M this season.. same salary as Spezza next season. But with Spezza it's the cap hit. A lot of you don't like Spezza.. but with good wingers.. he is offensively better than Derek Roy... Hitchcock had him at the world championships.. and liked the way Spezza played... now that was several years ago//

What would the return be for Spezza? Schwartz, Polak and a 2015 first round pick?

Blues won't be trading Schwartz so get that out of your head. Won't be a 2015 1st rounder either as that is already going to Buffalo.

You are probably looking at something like Berglund, Rattie, and a 2014 1st for Spezza. Maybe they can snag Shattenkirk our of there if they send a guy like Wiercioch back with Spezza as well.

So yah, Spezza Wiercioch for Berglund, Rattie, Shattenkirk, and 2014 1st will be pretty close if indeed he becomes a Blue.

My bad... didn't realize Buffalo had the 2015 first.. Shattenkirk would be good. Rattie as well... Berglund is Swedish.. so he fits right in.

It will be a quantity for quality deal and that's what the Sens need.

shattenkirk would be sweet. i could get behind that but i'd rather have someone else than berglund. not that i don't want him but i'd start asking for someone else.
tarasanko, rattie, shattenkirk
for spezza and wier.
