This has got to be the stupidest start to a "new" franchise in the history of new franchises... in the entire world...

I'm regretting not complaining that the name red blacks is offensive to native Americans and black ppl....Diddle I could have saved the franchise from this terrible name

I'm more worried the stadium won't be ready in time. Exterior wise it's still looking like the same eyesore it was before

I'm a Jays fan too but there's no way u thought they were going to beat David price and the rays. Tampa has smoked the jays for 6-7 years now, and the Jays are normally a terrible road team. Good news is, there's still 161 billion more games to play

Solid game, no way the RedBlacks don't come out of that with a little confidence.  Yah, the end result wasn't what everyone wanted but that game was competitive start to finish and at worst they are tied for first in the division right now.  A lot of positives there for only 1 game in franchise history and on the road.

Happy Ottawa has a legit team and franchise back.

Started out flying and looked unbeatable but then wilted.

Burris was great. They have a shot to win each game with him at QB.

Argos got destroyed by that same team. Alouettes are in disarray. RedBlacks have a legitimate chance to finish above those two teams. Hamilton didn't look that strong either.

What's with the standings, though? All four Eastern teams are 0-1. Why is Toronto listed at the top? What's the tie-breaker? You'd think points for/against differential. RedBlacks are at 8, Argos at 24 and Alouettes and Ticats at 21. Tell me why Ottawa isn't at the top?

"Redskins" is racially charged. "Redblacks" is not.

When the team was formed, the name Redskins had no negative connotations (same as Chiefs, Blackhawks, and so on). I have *never* heard anyone call a Native American "redskin" (I had a few friends living in Chateaugay, so I spent a bit of time there and heard plenty of other disparaging remarks, just not "redskin"). I'm not sure at what point in time this word took on a negative connotation -- it wasn't at its inception, and I haven't heard it in use since then. Maybe it's different in the US.
