There has to be a player moved out before one comes in on defense.  Don't see anyway around that.
Someone will have to be moved regardless.  With Phillips we will have 5 LH D on 1 ways next year.  That's uncle Eugene's worst nightmare.

I think Boroweicki might be the guy going to Buffalo like I said on Friday, Sat, until today... that said I wouldn't surprised if they moved Cowen for a top 6 forward (obviously more than just Cowen).
I figured Boro + Hoffman for Stewart but assumed it would be a quick flip.

How about Cowen and Boro for Ehrhoff and Stewart

Totally agree. Glad to see Luongo get traded. Maybe this is why he was on the bench on Sunday???

Think he went into Gillis office after Sunday and said I am done. Gillis went from 2, #1 goaltenders to Laak and Markstrom... they have nothing but Horvat and Markstrom to show for that. Worst GM in the NHL, yes, the worst.

Could be something like that but I doubt it. Like EV said I think it's going to be a deal in Ottawa that comes out of no where.

You never know with Murray. He keeps things so quiet. The whole Spezza on the block thing created a great smoke screen for him to work under.

Yeah I'd argue for florida on this one. Depends who the other person is that they gave up apart from markstrom. Gotta believe kesler will be gone tomorrow as well.

Canucks fans have to be shaking their heads at what has transpired. No schneider, no luongo.

EDIT: shawn matthias the other guy rumored. Slightly better now, but canucks have no clear number one goalie. News must have been bad on sedin

Mattias and Markstrom for Luongo. Little better but still awful.

So, Schiender and Luongo for

Mattias, Markstrom, and Horvat. Vancouver will now spend the next 10 years searching for a #1.

Really. A 35 year old goalie with 8 years left on his contract.

Hope he retires in 3 years and Vancouver gets killed on the recapture penalties.

Oh, he's in Florida to just play out the string for sure and Vancouver will get hammered with that penalty.

That's right. Hip injury. Yikes.

Edler or Bieksa for a lot of our prospects?

Again, Ottawa needs to move a body before they bring one in.

Edler was Karlsson's defensive pairing in the olympics wasn't he?

Glad we didn't go all in for Ehrhoff right now. This could be a game-changing move.

I bet Cowen would look great in a Canucks jersey. Edler can join the team in Calgary...
