Yes. Three lines did nothing. One line got lucky on a bad goal (first), bad pinch leading to 2-on-1 (second) and rugby scrum (third). But "fact is" it's the Captain's fault.

Geez, we all knew going in that Spezza is not Messier. He's not a hard player to play against. He is soft and can be very good in certain situations. And, yes, he was the "only" choice for the 'C'. "Fact is" this is all Alfie's fault for leaving before Karlsson or Turris were ready. Can't blame a player for not being what you want him to be.

Team did fold against Toronto and that reflects 100% on the captain.  Can't say leadership because Neil did anything but fold and Phillips wasn't playing.  Karlsson needs to up his game against the Leafs going forward as well and that's becoming a concerning trend.

They've folded when Alfie was captain as well, even last year when Spezza was out.

Toronto intimidates them or they're in their head or something because some of their worst games are against the Leafs, especially on HNIC.

So Cussing true. This does not get mentioned enough

It's never too early to talk about trading Spezza.
