I get this awful feeling that there is some tension/disagreement between PMac and Murray or between Murray and Melnyk. I have no idea why JOB is in the AHL. It would cost nothing to bring him up. Right now, would he be a better alternative on the 4th line than Kassian or Conacher? For that matter, Grant appears to have hit a wall or something. He has not been very effective the last 2-3 games like he was earlier on. Even if it's just for a game or two, bring up JOB, Pageau, Hoffman. Some of the players are getting a little comfortable and have done little of late -- Conacher, Greening, Condra. as well as the others mentioned earlier.

The decision to take out Lehner when he was on a roll was wrong. Said so at the time. Everyone was questioning it. Sure, there were some who said "You don't lose your job because of an injury" but the much more common expression is "Ride the hot hand". How much hotter can you get than 1st Star NHL honours? And even the Philly game, he lost and he admitted he blew it, but he did stop 37 shots. Anderson's SV% over the last 6 starts (coming into last night's game) was something like .868. Last night's performance was .840. Lehner's "off" game was .902.

I don't understand why he continues to:
- play Anderson
- play Spezza and Michalek (hell, bring up DaCosta for 2-3 games and "rest Spezza's groin")
- play Zibanejad on the 4th line
- play Conacher on the 2nd line
- play Cowen

Did anyone note the shot of the crown when they showed the cheerleaders? How pathetic was that? Not sure what was worse, cheerleaders at a Sens game or all the empty seats.

They have 6, #5, 6 D men and 8-9 Bottom 6 forwards. They need to clear bodies, just way too many guys playing so/so hockey and not contributing on the score sheet. Teams just are not willing to take any at this point.

Grant, Borowiecki, and Z-Bad are the only guys that can be sent down without waivers, and their play has warranted them sticking around.  If we can't make a big trade to bring in good players, then we need to ship a guy or two out for prospects/picks just to free up roster space so Pageau and Hoffman can get up here.

We're in a tough spot.
Honestly what's the point of waiving Kassian? The one guy who doesn't really care if he plays in over 1/2 the games and has come in and been alright... no chance. The issue is playing time for guys who believe they should be playing, Corvo, Gryba, Wiercioch. Only way to clear this up is either waive one or trade a couple. The other thing is you can't just move Corvo or waive him... that looks beyond awful for the team and that kind of move kills any vet wanting to come here. "I signed in Ottawa and the waived me a month into the season", lol. That's BUSH LEAGUE.

Murray has created this mess along with MacLean, way too many cooks in the kitchen.
This is why we need to move a couple guys. Greening could go. Condra could go. Michalek could go. Spezza could go. Grant could go. Cowen could go. Wiercioch could go. Gryba could go. Kassian could go. Anderson could go.

No shortage of guys to ship out. It's just always a problem trying to make a trade this early in the season.

Moving a guy like Condra for a mid round draft pick makes sense at this point. You have Grant who basically took his job on the PK, the PK is struggling right now, and he's on a more than reasonable deal. That's a deal for the sake of making a deal and I agree with it. Something needs to happen.

The other guy you may have to ship out is Wiercioch, clearly not a MacLean favorite by any means and he's not ready for full time NHL duty.

Here's the thing though, there is no way you can trade a guy for draft picks because every single team is at 23 men and most have 14-15 forwards on the NHL rosters... close to impossible.

Who just mentioned JOB? Guy hasn't even done anything in Bingo. He barely plays.

Yah, JOB is done man, lol. No motivation at all. Got his 1 way deal and packed it in.

He was fine until the coach kicked his career in the teeth.

What's really frustrating is hearing that Murray has been trying to make moves since the beginning of the season but unable to due to the budget. It's pretty sickening to see your team in a position to take advantage of cap-Cussed teams and not be able to do it.

Once you are in MacLean's dog house it does seem tough to get out of.

Trading Anderson to Edmonton for Dubnyk and a 2nd rounder wouldn't be the worst trade in the world right now. That would pretty much wake everyone up.

I don't see us taking Dubnyk back unless we're getting something of more value than a 2nd rounder. Although who knows what the goalie market is like...it wasn't that strong when we traded Bishop, and it doesn't appear strong now.

Exactly, Edmonton is looking for a sure fire upgrade on Dubnyk and that is for sure Anderson.  They don't have a 2014 2nd rounder at this point but at this point taking Dubnyk back and moving Anderson would cause the players to perk up and truthfully it doesn't hurt the team long term or short term.  I'm obviously not the GM or coach but that's what I would do. Also gives Lehner a decent back up for the rest of this year and next.

That's not a good trade IMO. You need to get a top six forward or 2nd pairing D-man out of Anderson, or you have to wait.

And NEELY, WHO WAS ON ICE FOR THE WINNING GOAL????
Haha, really?  You want to go with the line that's been carrying the team?  Even then a weak goal?
Nope!  Just wanted to see if you only call out spezza's line when they screw up or not....evidently you do.  And Koivu's goal was NOT a weak goal.  That was all one the coverage into our zone.  Same ol' Dung

Anderson and Karlsson should hang their heads in shame for that abomination (talking about 3rd goal).  WTF karlsson?  Better not have something to do with missing unlce Alfie or for not being named an assistant captain or whatever.
