Nope! Just wanted to see if you only call out spezza's line when they screw up or not....evidently you do. And Koivu's goal was NOT a weak goal. That was all one the coverage into our zone. And NEELY, WHO WAS ON ICE FOR THE WINNING GOAL????

Shouldn't smoke right when you wake up, lol.SpezDispenser wrote:That's not a good trade IMO. You need to get a top six forward or 2nd pairing D-man out of Anderson, or you have to wait.NEELY wrote:Trading Anderson to Edmonton for Dubnyk and a 2nd rounder wouldn't be the worst trade in the world right now. We scored 3 goals last night, hit the crossbar (Ryan) and post (Smith) against the goalie who is top-3 in all goalie stats except SV%, for which he is 5th (but the SV% leaders can change on a daily basis especially only 20 games in).NEELY wrote:
They have 6, #5, 6 D men and 8-9 Bottom 6 forwards. They need to clear bodies, just way too many guys playing so/so hockey and not contributing on the score sheet. Teams just are not willing to take any at this point.
That or he's dead tired. Guy is being leaned on more than any other player in the organization and truth be told he's still been an all-star. Can he compete harder? For sure.Michallica wrote:Nope! Anderson and Karlsson should hang their heads in shame for that abomination (talking about 3rd goal). WTF karlsson? Better not have something to do with missing unlce Alfie or for not being named an assistant captain or whatever.
If not for Wiercioch I don't know if we would have Turris. Plus roll the clock back 1-2 months weeks and check your posts mentioning PW. Did he really turn terrible or is this a case of a sophomore jinx? There is a reason there is a name for it -- it's very common. Problem is we had too many "sophomores" on the back-end (Wiercioch, Cowen, Gryba are all, essentially, playing their second full NHL season -- actually a bit less for Gryba).NEELY wrote:Moving a guy like Condra for a mid round draft pick makes sense at this point. You have Grant who basically took his job on the PK, the PK is struggling right now, and he's on a more than reasonable deal. That's a deal for the sake of making a deal and I agree with it. Something needs to happen.
The other guy you may have to ship out is Wiercioch, clearly not a MacLean favorite by any means and he's not ready for full time NHL duty.
I did. He's free. It cost more to bring up Grant to replace Condra on the PK than it would have cost to bring up JOB. And JOB was one of our best PKers before he saw Mrs. PMac naked or something.Ev wrote:Who just mentioned JOB? Guy hasn't even done anything in Bingo. He barely plays.
Yeah, all of this is accurate. You don't want to trade your number one Cs best friend, especially when that guy has the potential to be a 50 point D-man. He needs to bulk up, he needs to learn the defensive zone more, but he's still young with major potential.wprager wrote:If not for Wiercioch I don't know if we would have Turris. Dubnyk makes more than Anderson. Melnyk would say "WHAAAA?t?NEELY wrote:Trading Anderson to Edmonton for Dubnyk and a 2nd rounder wouldn't be the worst trade in the world right now. That would pretty much wake everyone up.
I get the impression he's kind of a clown. Just a gut feeling, but if he is, no coach really likes that I would imagine. PMac buried him and now Richardson appears to be burying him.wprager wrote:I did. He's free. It cost more to bring up Grant to replace Condra on the PK than it would have cost to bring up JOB. I never said Wiercioch is great right now I said I think he will be a better player than Cowen but it will take 3, 4 years. I also mentioned I don't know if the Sens have the patients to wait that long for him to come to form while Cowen is, right now a better player but I think his upside is limited.wprager wrote:If not for Wiercioch I don't know if we would have Turris. Holy Dung, that is ridiculous. I didn't realize that, Diddle that noise! He's worth 1 million tops.wprager wrote:Dubnyk makes more than Anderson. Really?NEELY wrote:Exactly, Edmonton is looking for a sure fire upgrade on Dubnyk and that is for sure Anderson. They don't have a 2014 2nd rounder at this point but at this point taking Dubnyk back and moving Anderson would cause the players to perk up and truthfully it doesn't hurt the team long term or short term. I'm obviously not the GM or coach but that's what I would do. Also gives Lehner a decent back up for the rest of this year and next.
Still in the AHL, isn't he? Not exactly killing it, either.SeawaySensFan wrote:I think that ship has likely sailed due to the Bryz signing, brah.NEELY wrote:Trading Anderson to Edmonton for Dubnyk and a 2nd rounder wouldn't be the worst trade in the world right now.
