I think that ship has likely sailed due to the Bryz signing, brah.

And NEELY, WHO WAS ON ICE FOR THE WINNING GOAL????
Haha, really?  You want to go with the line that's been carrying the team?  Even then a weak goal?
Nope!  Just wanted to see if you only call out spezza's line when they screw up or not....evidently you do.  And Koivu's goal was NOT a weak goal.  That was all one the coverage into our zone.  Same ol' Dung

Anderson and Karlsson should hang their heads in shame for that abomination (talking about 3rd goal).  WTF karlsson?  Better not have something to do with missing unlce Alfie or for not being named an assistant captain or whatever.

That's not a good trade IMO.  You need to get a top six forward or 2nd pairing D-man out of Anderson, or you have to wait.
Shouldn't smoke right when you wake up, lol.

They have 6, #5, 6 D men and 8-9 Bottom 6 forwards.  They need to clear bodies, just way too many guys playing so/so hockey and not contributing on the score sheet.  Teams just are not willing to take any at this point.
We scored 3 goals last night, hit the crossbar (Ryan) and post (Smith) against the goalie who is top-3 in all goalie stats except SV%, for which he is 5th (but the SV% leaders can change on a daily basis especially only 20 games in).

On most nights offence is not the problem. Last night we held the Wild to 25 shots on goal, and it's not like Anderson had to make 21 really tough saves. So last night the problem was between the pipes, but he did have help from some uninspired play from some unexpected sources (Karlsson) and questionable coaching (Zibanejad with the lowest ice time through two periods even though he was great in every shift).

That or he's dead tired. Guy is being leaned on more than any other player in the organization and truth be told he's still been an all-star. Can he compete harder? For sure.

As for the Spezza comment, if Turris' line continues to do that while not producing for sure I will get on them but right now they are carrying the team.

The way he's playing, his value has diminished greatly. I'd wait.

For what?! lol. Him to absolutely burry the Sens? Lehner should have never come out and it should stay that way, Anderson right now is the worst "#1" in the NHL and if there was ever a time to move him while you can, it's now. No one will take that contract next year aside from Florida and it will pretty much be an Elliott for Anderson trade.

Move him now, get something of value, shake the team up.

The other guy you may have to ship out is Wiercioch, clearly not a MacLean favorite by any means and he's not ready for full time NHL duty.
If not for Wiercioch I don't know if we would have Turris. Plus roll the clock back 1-2 months weeks and check your posts mentioning PW. Did he really turn terrible or is this a case of a sophomore jinx? There is a reason there is a name for it -- it's very common. Problem is we had too many "sophomores" on the back-end (Wiercioch, Cowen, Gryba are all, essentially, playing their second full NHL season -- actually a bit less for Gryba).

Florida's a good destination. Let's do it. Anderson + piece + piece for Matthias + Fleishmann. You get your bottom six guy you want, I get my top six guy I want, everyone's happy.

I guess we'd need a backup at that point though.

PS - if MacLean doesn't roll with Lehner from here on - like...for a while, I think he might have gone ret_arded.

I did. He's free. It cost more to bring up Grant to replace Condra on the PK than it would have cost to bring up JOB. And JOB was one of our best PKers before he saw Mrs. PMac naked or something.

Yeah, all of this is accurate. You don't want to trade your number one Cs best friend, especially when that guy has the potential to be a 50 point D-man. He needs to bulk up, he needs to learn the defensive zone more, but he's still young with major potential.

Dubnyk makes more than Anderson. Melnyk would say "WHAAAA?t?

I get the impression he's kind of a clown. Just a gut feeling, but if he is, no coach really likes that I would imagine. PMac buried him and now Richardson appears to be burying him.

I never said Wiercioch is great right now I said I think he will be a better player than Cowen but it will take 3, 4 years. I also mentioned I don't know if the Sens have the patients to wait that long for him to come to form while Cowen is, right now a better player but I think his upside is limited.

I have also always maintained that Wiercioch is 100% the most likely to get dealt between Cowen and him.

NEELY wrote:Exactly, Edmonton is looking for a sure fire upgrade on Dubnyk and that is for sure Anderson.  They don't have a 2014 2nd rounder at this point but at this point taking Dubnyk back and moving Anderson would cause the players to perk up and truthfully it doesn't hurt the team long term or short term.  I'm obviously not the GM or coach but that's what I would do.  Also gives Lehner a decent back up for the rest of this year and next.
Really?

The other thing about Anderson is he is not competitive at all... like no fight. If he's in the zone he's impossible to beat, if he's struggling there is nothing that seems to get him back on track. The coach tried the confidence in his #1 thing, he put him back in there despite Lehner outplaying him in a BIG way.

Still in the AHL, isn't he? Not exactly killing it, either.
