Basically what he Ryan trade was.Hoags wrote:Could do more harm than good. If there's a good move to be made then do it but making a move just to shake things up and appease fans and season ticket holders?Ev wrote:I hope he does. We need something.
Haha, really? You want to go with the line that's been carrying the team? Even then a weak goal?Michallica wrote:Holy Diddle Anderson sucked Donkey. That heatley goal was an absolute disgrace and karlsson and Anderson should both be ashamed of that crap.
And NEELY, WHO WAS ON ICE FOR THE WINNING GOAL????
Honestly, I am starting to question whether it's a lack of effort from Karlsson or he's just dead tired. There is NO ONE to take away those minutes from him at this point.tim1_2 wrote:This was tough to watch. Karlsson's been too soft. Sure, just step aside and let HEATLEY of all people score. Seriously. He was standing up against the post where he should have been, and then backed off it, letting Heatley come right out. For shame.
And then everything else was a pile of Dung too. MacArthur's pass and Z-Bad's goals were both highlight of the night material though.
Has there been any reasoning for why Z-Bad isn't getting any ice time? Are they going to send him back down? What the hell is going on there?
I'm not sure why Corvo's getting the shaft right now. Too many d-men up.NEELY wrote:Honestly, I am starting to question whether it's a lack of effort from Karlsson or he's just dead tired. Honestly what's the point of waiving Kassian? The one guy who doesn't really care if he plays in over 1/2 the games and has come in and been alright... no chance. The issue is playing time for guys who believe they should be playing, Corvo, Gryba, Wiercioch. Only way to clear this up is either waive one or trade a couple. The other thing is you can't just move Corvo or waive him... that looks beyond awful for the team and that kind of move kills any vet wanting to come here. "I signed in Ottawa and the waived me a month into the season", lol. That's BUSH LEAGUE.tim1_2 wrote:The only guy that could be safely waived to free up a roster spot is Matt Kassian.
Grant, Borowiecki, and Z-Bad are the only guys that can be sent down without waivers, and their play has warranted them sticking around. If we can't make a big trade to bring in good players, then we need to ship a guy or two out for prospects/picks just to free up roster space so Pageau and Hoffman can get up here.
We're in a tough spot.
They have 6, #5, 6 D men and 8-9 Bottom 6 forwards. They need to clear bodies, just way too many guys playing so/so hockey and not contributing on the score sheet. Teams just are not willing to take any at this point.wprager wrote:I get this awful feeling that there is some tension/disagreement between PMac and Murray or between Murray and Melnyk. I have no idea why JOB is in the AHL. It would cost nothing to bring him up. Right now, would he be a better alternative on the 4th line than Kassian or Conacher? For that matter, Grant appears to have hit a wall or something. He has not been very effective the last 2-3 games like he was earlier on. Even if it's just for a game or two, bring up JOB, Pageau, Hoffman. Some of the players are getting a little comfortable and have done little of late -- Conacher, Greening, Condra. as well as the others mentioned earlier.
The decision to take out Lehner when he was on a roll was wrong. Said so at the time. Everyone was questioning it. Sure, there were some who said "You don't lose your job because of an injury" but the much more common expression is "Ride the hot hand". How much hotter can you get than 1st Star NHL honours? And even the Philly game, he lost and he admitted he blew it, but he did stop 37 shots. Anderson's SV% over the last 6 starts (coming into last night's game) was something like .868. Last night's performance was .840. Lehner's "off" game was .902.
I don't understand why he continues to:
- play Anderson
- play Spezza and Michalek (hell, bring up DaCosta for 2-3 games and "rest Spezza's groin")
- play Zibanejad on the 4th line
- play Conacher on the 2nd line
- play Cowen
Did anyone note the shot of the crown when they showed the cheerleaders? How pathetic was that? Not sure what was worse, cheerleaders at a Sens game or all the empty seats.
This is why we need to move a couple guys. Greening could go. Condra could go. Michalek could go. Spezza could go. Grant could go. Cowen could go. Wiercioch could go. Gryba could go. Kassian could go. Anderson could go.NEELY wrote:Honestly what's the point of waiving Kassian? Murray has created this mess along with MacLean, way too many cooks in the kitchen.
