Well Grant did Jumbo-all. Kassian is less than useless because he drags down guys like Pageau and Grant who are forced to skate with him. There may be games later in the season when we need him, but not right now. We need secondary scoring until they can solve the problem with Michalek.

It was a PP winner in OT, their PP went 4/4. Meanwhile they took 7 consecutive penalties. I guess you knew they were getting the next call (just like you knew for the last 2-3 that didn't go their way).

Who would've thought that AHL refs talk to their NHL counterparts.

Hoffman is making the Sens brass take notice in a big way. Huge goal(s) tonight and 6 points in 6 games - including 4 goals. Very impressive.

He's definitely got the tools to be a very good AHLer. NHL is a different beast.

Biggest things for the Sens right now is trying to figure out how to score on the PP. Michalek is still the guy holding the top line back and the top PP unit back, he's doing absolutely nothing out there... don't think he's had a scoring chance all season long and that includes his 2 goals that were just seeing eye shots that found there way in. Broken clock is right twice a day and both those goals are a nice little example of that. They need to get a LH shot up on that top line and PP unit that can actually create a little offense for himself or at provide some grit and jam in front of the net.

MacLean is letting a lot of these guys work things out right now including Michalek but he's close to done at this point and it's been obvious for around a year now. They need to figure out another option for Spezza because Michalek is not working.

I would like to see Michalek moved to the bottom 6 for the time being. I would try out:

Greening-Spezza-Conacher
MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Michalek-Pageau-Condra
Smith-Grant-Neil

Basically what I think as well because they need to switch things up top to bottom for sure. Kassian being in the lineup is literally doing nothing right now.

I don't get the love for Kassian. I mean, it's not like he gets any minutes, but it's just a complete waste. He can't skate, he is pretty soft for a guy in his role, and he doesn't even have any PIM this season in 5 games.

I'm all for fighters and I respect the fact that a team uses a guy like this to deter the opposition from taking liberties with young players and stars, but nobody is really taking liberties on the Sens right now and Kassian isn't defending anybody.

Pretty much. I get the need to have him around and control things but he doesn't skate well enough at this point to do much of anything other than "not make a mistake". They need some guys who can play right now and they are wasting the 4th line by only being able to roll 3 with any kind of consistency.

as much as I would like Ziba to get top minutes and contine to produce offensively in the AHL, I think his game is much needed here, especially for the upcoming stretch. He'a a better option than Pageau at the moment, IMO.
