We're having dinner with friends and are thinking of going to the restaurant in Brookstreet. Wonder if we'll see any Oilers (with an afternoon game tomorrow you'd figure they'd be there already). And if not the Oilers, maybe some puck bunnies.

No. That's not a lesson at all. He needs to be passed over a few times. Christmas or more likely January he can come up - if it was me in charge.

A guy that actually does have a chance to get the call up is Prince. He has earned a look but I have a feeling it might be Hoffman as well.

Think it will come down to those 4, the top 2 being the most likely, Hoffman being a guy they may want to provide the same chance they did to Da Costa, Prince if they are looking for a little offense.

lol you and everyone else didn't even think the guy was going to be demoted a few weeks ago, now you want to keep him in the AHl until January.

he won't be there for more than a month at most. A "lesson" has already been learned by him not making NHL salary and riding the busses.

Still needs to be playing for Bingo for an extended period of time. Aside from a message being sent there are practical reasons he is down there and none of those reasons will be exercised if he gets a call up 2 weeks after. I would say by the end of Nov perhaps he gets the call if he's playing well and if the Sens need a spark or there is an injury but other than that the top 6 right now is fine and they are probably looking for a little speed on the wing to work with Pageau and Condra on the 4th line. Could be a few guys.

Pageau is in tough on the 4th for sure right now but Smith is playing well, Kassian is one winger, and Condra is another. He needs to do more to justify himself being in the NHL at this point but he's learning what the coach wants from him and that's keeping the game as simple and as responsible as possible. He's getting PK time right now which shows the coach does have some faith in him but having Kassian beside him he won't be getting a regular shift which is part of the process. Pageau isn't playing badly but he's fighting for ice time and really showing no reason why he deserves more.

Also, along with Cowen, Spezza, Karlsson, Anderson, Gryba, Pageau... whoever else, the Sens need to get back into a routine, a solid practice schedule, and back into game shape. That roadie took a lot out of them along with a long camp.

I know, but they did it abd they were open about him not being competitive enough coming into camp. Might as well nip that in the bud right now.

Even with the win last night the Sens are still out of a playoff spot. In the so-called "wild card" standings they are tied with Boston (who have a game in hand) and 2 points behind Florida (ugh, just threw up in my mouth a little).

Interesting how both of the "wildcard" teams are in the Atlantic. Does that mean we have the strongest division?

Whatever. The Leafs lost and may be without Reimer for a while. With a win against the Oilers tomorrow we will be just 2 points back of the Leafs (after the Hawks beat the Leafs) and still have the one game in hand.

In Detroit, Kronwall was kronwalled and looks like he'll be out for a while. And Howard has a bruised hand. Take out your #1 and top D-man let's see how well they do. Alfie tied for 8th in scoring bugs me a bit (but Spezza, tied for 17th is just 1 point back having played 2 fewer games).

If the Sens can clean up their act a bit they'll be in the top-three in the Atlantic soon enough.

It's 2 weeks in man and the Sens have played 1 home game. That's how early in the season it is.

Talk to me at Christmas about any kind of statistic short of single game records.

After Edmonton we play Detroit, Anaheim, San Jose and Chicago.
